  If you see water or suds leaking from the door or rear of your Maytag Washer, it might be due to using regular detergent instead of HE detergent, or using too much HE detergent. Switch to only HE detergent, measuring it carefully and following the manufacturer's instructions based on your load requirements. If you're running the Clean Washer cycle, avoid thickened or no-splash bleach; use affresh® tablet or regular, non-thickened chlorine bleach. Periodically clean the underside of the glass window to avoid potential leaks. Also, water can drip off the inside of the door if opened during the “Add Garment” phase.

Also, check that the inlet valve screens aren't clogged and that there are no kinks in the inlet hoses. Verify the electrical supply by plugging the power cord into a grounded 3-prong outlet, avoiding extension cords and GFCI outlets. Confirm there is power to the outlet, and if problems persist, have an electrician check the voltage. Reset any tripped circuit breakers or replace blown fuses.

  If your Maytag Washer isn't draining or spinning, and loads are still wet, check the drain hose installation. Ensure it doesn't extend more than 4.5" (114 mm) into the standpipe. Use the drain hose form to securely attach it to the drainpipe or tub, without taping over the drain opening. Also, make sure the drain hose isn't clogged or higher than 96" (2.4 m) above the floor. Remove any clogs, and ensure the hose fits loosely but securely in the standpipe, without being sealed with tape to allow for an air gap. Also, remove any strainer/nylon stocking on end of drain hose.

  If you notice leaking around the door of your Maytag Washer, it could be due to hair, lint, or other debris on the inner door glass, preventing a proper seal with the rubber door seal. Clean the inner door glass and seal. See “Cleaning the Door Seal” in the “Washer Maintenance” section.

  Your Maytag Washer may vibrate, rock or even 'walk' if the feet are not in contact with the floor and locked, so make sure that the front and rear feet are in firm contact with the floor, and the washer is level. Also, ensure the jam nuts are tight against the bottom of the cabinet. An unbalanced or overly large load could also be the culprit, so avoid tightly packing the load and balance single items with a few extra items. Check the floor for flexing or sagging. If the flooring is uneven, a ¾" (19 mm) piece of plywood under your washer will reduce sound. Do not install washer on a raised wooden platform. Also, make sure you have removed the shipping bolts from the back of the washer.

Use only HE detergent, measuring it carefully and following the manufacturer’s directions based on load size and soil level.

The unit will drain for 8 minutes with the door locked, and this drain cycle must complete to reset the error. Touch POWER once to clear the code, then again to restart the washer. If the code reappears, call for service. Also, make sure both hoses are attached and have water flowing to the inlet valve, and that both hot and cold water faucets are turned ON. Check the inlet valve screens on the washer to ensure they are not clogged. Remove any kinks in the inlet hose. If used, auto shut-off connectors and hoses must be properly installed and in working order.
