What to do if my Maytag MHW3505FW is not draining/spinning and loads are still wet?
    • T
      Travis VaughnAug 17, 2025
If your Maytag washer isn't draining or spinning, and the loads are still wet, check a few things. Make sure the drain hose doesn't extend more than 4.5" (114 mm) into the standpipe and is properly installed without being taped. Lower the drain hose if its end is higher than 96" (2.4 m) above the floor and remove any clogs. Also, remove any strainer/nylon stocking from the drain hose. The drain hose should fit loosely but securely in the standpipe, with an air gap.

Why is my Maytag MHW3505FW leaking water or suds from the door or rear of the cabinet?
    • J
      Jeffrey StoneAug 20, 2025
If you notice water or suds leaking from the door or rear of your Maytag washer, it could be due to using non-HE detergent or using too much HE detergent. Only use HE detergent and always measure it according to the manufacturer's directions. Also, when running the Clean Washer cycle, use affresh® tablets or regular, non-thickened chlorine bleach. Periodically clean the underside of the door glass. Avoid opening the door during 'Add a Garment'.

Why is my Maytag MHW3505FW Washer vibrating, rocking, or 'walking'?
    • W
      wilsonjasonAug 22, 2025
Several factors can cause your Maytag Washer to vibrate, rock, or 'walk'. First, ensure the front and rear feet are firmly in contact with the floor and that the washer is level, with jam nuts tightened. Check the floor for flexing or sagging; use a ¾" (19 mm) piece of plywood for uneven flooring. Avoid overloading or washing single items; balance loads with a few extra items. Finally, ensure the shipping bolts have been removed from the back of the washer.

Why is my Maytag MHW3505FW Washer not cleaning or removing stains effectively?
    • J
      Jenna FranklinAug 26, 2025
If your Maytag washer isn't cleaning or removing stains effectively, make sure you're loading it loosely to allow items to move freely. Also, be sure to use only HE detergent and follow the manufacturer’s directions based on load size and soil level.

Why is my Maytag MHW3505FW making clicking or metallic noises?
    • T
      Thomas KellySep 2, 2025
Clicking or metallic noises in your Maytag washer can be normal if it's the door locking or unlocking. The door will lock, unlock, and lock again, and you'll hear 3 clicks after touching and holding START. This is normal. However, the noises can also be caused by objects caught in the washer drain system. Empty pockets before washing. Loose items such as coins could fall between the washer drum and tub or may block the pump.

Why are all detergent level status lights lit on my Maytag Washer?
    • A
      Alexis GordonSep 5, 2025
If all detergent level status lights are lit on your Maytag washer, it could be because the detergent dispenser is not securely in place. Try pulling out the dispenser, filling it with detergent, and sliding it back in. It could also indicate a Detergent Level sensor error. Touch POWER/CANCEL to reset the system. If the LEDs remain lit, unplug the washer for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. If the problem persists, remove the cartridge and use single-load dispensing until the issue is resolved.

Why is the Clean Washer LED flashing on my Maytag MHW3505FW?
    • R
      Rebecca YoungSep 8, 2025
The Clean Washer LED flashes on your Maytag washer to remind you to run the Clean Washer with affresh® cycle after every 30 wash cycles. Run the Clean Washer with affresh® cycle. If the Clean Washer with affresh® cycle is not turned on, the LED will stop flashing at the end of a wash cycle after running 3 more regular wash cycles. After 30 more wash cycles are completed, the Clean Washer with affresh® LED will again flash at the end of a wash cycle as a reminder.

    • O
      omartinezSep 12, 2025
