How to prevent fabric damage in my Maytag Washer?
- JJennifer CastroSep 6, 2025
To prevent fabric damage in your Maytag Washer, empty pockets, zip zippers, and snap or hook fasteners before washing to avoid snags and tears. Tie all strings and straps before starting the wash load, and mend any rips or broken threads in seams. Avoid tightly packing the washer, loading only dry items. Use the cycle designed for the fabrics being washed, and add only 1 or 2 garments after the washer has started. Do not overfill the washer, and push the wash load fully into the washer. Fabric damage can occur if the washer door is closed on an item, trapping it between the door glass and the rubber seal.
