Arming and Disarming the
Alarm System with Keyless
Entry
Your
keyless entry system will automati
-
cally arm the factory installed anti-theft
system when the doors are locked, and
automatically disarm it when the doors
are
unlocked. The remote will also
reset
the anti-theft alarm (when the drivers
door
is unlocked, or when
is pressed)
if it was triggered.
The keyless entry system may not arm
and disarm non-factory installed anti-
theft systems.

Replacing
the Batteries
The
keyless entry transmitter is powered
by one coin type three-volt lithium
battery CR2032 or equivalent. Typical
operating range will allow you to be up
to 33 feet (10 meters) away from your
vehicle. A decrease in operating range
can be caused by:
S weather conditions
S nearby radio towers
S structures around the vehicle
S other vehicles parked next to the
vehicle.
If you notice a significant decrease in
operating range, the battery should be
replaced. Replacement batteries can be
purchased at most pharmacies, watch
stores or at your authorized Mazda
dealer.
1. Twist a thin coin between the two
halves
of the transmitter near the key
ring. DO NOT TAKE THE FRONT
PART OF THE TRANSMITTER
APART.
2. Remove the battery.
