System Design
The success of any car stereo system relies on several factors, such as
the system design, execution of the installation, and system setup. Please
remember that any system is only as good as its weakest link.
Please remember that higher power systems are not necessarily useful
purely for high sound pressure levels, but also to establish a headroom
capability, to reproduce musical peaks cleanly without distortion.
Lower power amplifiers will clip earlier than their more powerful cousins,
and cause loudspeaker failure when overdriven, due to the harmonics
generated by a clipped signal, thus overheating voice coils.
Amplifiers should be mounted with the fins running horizontally for best
convection cooling, to minimize overheating. Purchase the best quality
RCA cables you can afford, for reliability and less engine noise
interference in the audio system.
It is highly recommended that the amplifier be mounted to a board of MDF
or other solid structure using the 4 mounting screws provided. Avoid
mounting the amplifier to metal as this can introduce noise and other
unwanted issues. When mounting the amplifier, ensure that it is mounted
HORIZONTALLY, as shown in the diagram above, for optimal heat
dissipation. Mounting amplifiers to speaker enclosures is not
recommended as this can cause damage to the amplifier components.
When choosing a location for mounting the amplifier, ensure that you
check for clearance from wires, gas tank, electrical devices and brake
lines etc.
Congratulations!
By purchasing an amplifier from MB Quart, you have decided on a product
of the highest technical quality. MB Quart wishes you great enjoyment with

What to do if my MB QUART FORMULA FX1.1000 system does not turn on?
    • B
      batesalexanderAug 14, 2025
If your MB QUART Car Amplifier system isn't turning on, start by checking all the fuses and connections. Then, measure the +12 volt and remote turn on voltages at the amplifier terminals. If these voltages are low or nonexistent, measure the voltage at fuse holders, distribution blocks, and the head unit's +12 volt and remote leads to find the source of the problem.

Why does my MB QUART FORMULA FX1.1000 heatsink overheat?
    • N
      Noah CampbellAug 17, 2025
Your MB QUART Car Amplifier heatsink may be overheating due to inadequate cooling. Relocate or remount the amplifier to allow for better airflow over the fins. It could also be caused by driving high power levels into low impedances. Try reducing the volume or ensuring that the loudspeaker impedance is not lower than the recommended minimum.

What to do if my MB QUART FORMULA FX1.1000 Car Amplifier goes into diagnostic mode?
    • M
      Matthew HernandezAug 21, 2025
If your MB QUART Car Amplifier enters diagnostic mode, disconnect all RCA and speaker leads while keeping the +12 volt, power ground, and remote leads connected. Turn the amplifier back on. If the diagnostic LED lights up, the amplifier has an internal fault. If it doesn't light up, plug the RCA cables back in and reset the amplifier. If it then goes into diagnostic mode, the issue is with the input, either from bad cables or the source unit. Finally, connect the speakers one at a time; a faulty speaker or its wiring will activate the diagnostic system.

How to troubleshoot electrical interference in MB QUART FORMULA FX1.1000 Car Amplifier?
    • P
      Patrick HayesAug 25, 2025
To troubleshoot electrical interference in your MB QUART Car Amplifier, first unplug the amplifier input RCA cables. If the noise persists, check the speaker leads. If the noise disappears when the RCA cables are unplugged, investigate the source driving the amplifier, testing one component at a time.

Why does my MB QUART FORMULA FX1.1000 have low output power?
    • J
      Jessica GriffinAug 27, 2025
Low output power in your MB QUART Car Amplifier can occur for several reasons. First, check that the level controls are properly set. Then, ensure that the battery voltage, measured at the amplifier’s +12 volt and ground terminals, is at least 11 volts. Finally, inspect all +12 volt and ground connections to confirm they are secure.

How to stop ticking or whine with engine RPM in MB QUART FORMULA FX1.1000 Car Amplifier?
    • A
      andrea81Aug 31, 2025
A ticking or whining noise that changes with engine RPM in your MB QUART Car Amplifier system can be due to a few things. It may be caused by radiation pickup of RCA cables that are too close to a fuel pump or distributor; try relocating the cables. Also, check that the head unit ground is connected directly to the vehicle chassis and not using factory wiring. As an additional step, try supplying the head unit with a clean +12 volt supply directly from the battery +, instead of using a supply from the in dash wiring/fusebox.

How to fix hiss or white noise in MB QUART FORMULA FX1.1000 Car Amplifier?
    • P
      Peter CuevasSep 3, 2025
High levels of white noise in your MB QUART Car Amplifier usually occur when the amplifier level controls are set too high. Readjust them according to the procedures in section 'Setting up systems after installation for best performance'. If the issue persists, unplug the amplifier input RCA cables. If the hiss level reduces, the source unit is likely the cause.

    Caitlin CarterSep 6, 2025
What causes a constant whine in my MB QUART FORMULA FX1.1000?
    • M
      Matthew KingSep 6, 2025
A constant whine in your MB QUART Car Amplifier can be caused by connection issues. Check all connections, paying special attention to ensure good grounds. Also, make sure that no speaker leads are shorting to exposed metal on the vehicle chassis.
  • B
    Brandy DurhamSep 9, 2025
What causes MB QUART Car Amplifier fuses blowing?
    • P
      Patrick BlevinsSep 9, 2025
MB QUART Car Amplifier fuses may blow due to the use of loudspeaker impedances below the recommended minimums, so check that first. Also, a short on the main +12 volt cable from the battery to the vehicle chassis will cause the main fuse to blow.
