Overview

The MeacoCool Pro Series 12,000 - 16,000 Air Conditioner is a powerful, self-contained cooling solution designed for single rooms in homes or offices. Beyond its primary cooling function, it also offers fan and dehumidifying capabilities, making it a versatile appliance for creating a comfortable indoor atmosphere. Its portable design means it does not require permanent installation, allowing users to easily move it to where it's most needed.

Function Description

The MeacoCool Pro Series operates across several modes: Cool, Dry, Fan, and Heat (available on CH models).

In Cool Mode, the air conditioner cools the room by running its compressor until a desired temperature, settable between 16°C and 32°C, is reached. Once the target temperature is achieved, the compressor turns off, but the fan continues to run. If the room temperature rises above the target, the unit automatically reactivates cooling. This mode requires the exhaust duct to be vented to the outside to remove hot air.

The Dry Mode functions as a dehumidifier, removing excess moisture from the air. The compressor runs intermittently based on ambient temperature: for 15 minutes at >25°C, 10 minutes at 20-25°C, and 6 minutes at 15-20°C, each followed by a 3-minute stop, while the fan runs continuously. Below 15°C, the compressor stops, and drying ceases until the temperature rises to 17°C. In this mode, the fan speed defaults to low and cannot be adjusted, and temperature selection is not available. Continuous drainage via the central drainage port and hose is recommended for optimal performance in Dry Mode.

Fan Mode circulates room air without cooling or heating. Users can select between Low, Medium, or High fan speeds. This mode is useful for general air circulation and is disabled in Dry and Sleep Modes.

For CH (Cooling and Heating) models, a Heat Mode is also available. Similar to Cool Mode, users can set a desired temperature between 16°C and 32°C. The unit will run until this temperature is reached. If the room temperature drops below the target, the air conditioner will automatically resume heating. The compressor stops immediately once the target is met, though the fan may continue if the coil pipe temperature is above 34°C, stopping once it drops to 34°C or below. The supply air fan runs continuously, blowing hot air, while the exhaust air fan operates periodically or continuously depending on temperature and humidity. Continuous drainage via the lower drainage port and hose is recommended for Heat Mode.

The air conditioner features a Sleep Mode, which can be activated in Cool or Heat Mode. In this mode, the unit runs on a low fan speed to minimize noise, and the LED display dims. In Cool Mode, the pre-set temperature increases by 1°C after the first hour, and by another 1°C after the second hour, maintaining this new temperature for 10 hours. In Heat Mode, the pre-set temperature decreases by 1°C after the first hour, and by another 1°C after the second hour, also maintaining this for 10 hours.

An Automatic Defrost function is integrated to prevent frost buildup on the evaporator at low room temperatures. When the evaporator coil temperature drops below -1°C in Cool or Dry Mode, the compressor pauses for ten minutes or until the coil reaches 7°C, after which the unit restarts in Cool Mode. This is a normal operational process.

The device also includes an Overload Protection feature. In the event of a power cut, the air conditioner's memory function ensures it resumes its previous settings once power is restored, with a 3-minute delay before the compressor restarts to protect it.

Usage Features

The MeacoCool Pro Series is designed for ease of use with a comprehensive control panel and a remote control.

Control Panel and Remote Control: Both allow users to:

  • Power On/Off: A single press turns the unit on (defaulting to fan mode at 23°C) or off. The compressor starts with a 3-minute delay upon power-on and stops immediately upon power-off, with the fan running for an additional ten seconds.
  • Timer Function: Set an ON or OFF timer for up to 24 hours. When in standby, the timer can be set to turn the unit on after a specified number of hours. When running, it can be set to turn the unit off. The timer can be removed by setting it to '00 hrs'.
  • Fan Speed Selection: Choose between Low, Medium, or High fan speeds in Cool and Fan Modes. An LED indicates the selected speed. This function is disabled in Dry and Sleep Modes.
  • Swing Function: Activate or deactivate the automatic louvre swing for broader air distribution. The louvre must remain open during operation, but its movement is optional.
  • Temperature Adjustment: Use increase and decrease buttons to set the desired temperature in Cool and Heat Modes or to adjust the timer settings.
  • Mode Selection: Cycle through Cool, Dry, Fan, and Heat (CH models only) modes using the mode button. An LED indicates the active mode.

Installation:

The air conditioner requires venting to the outside, typically through a window, to expel hot air. It comes with a 1.8-meter duct, which can be extended with an optional 2-meter duct. Two window kits are provided: a Standard window kit for sliding windows and doors, and a Flexible window kit for other window types.

  1. Duct Assembly: Connect the duct machine adaptor to one end of the duct and the duct window adaptor to the other, using a twisting motion.
  2. Window Kit Setup (Standard): Attach the duct to the window kit. The window kit consists of adjustable sections (A, B, C) that are screwed together to fit the window length. The duct is inserted into a hole in section B.
  3. Sealing: Close the window to secure the window kit. Sealing any gaps between the window kit and the window sides is recommended for maximum efficiency.
  4. Duct Extension: Extend the duct to the desired length, ensuring no bends or kinks to maintain airflow.
  5. Drainage Hose (Dry/Heat Mode): For Dry or Heat Mode, the drainage hose must be connected to the central or lower drainage port for continuous water removal.
  6. Power On: Plug the unit into the mains and press the power button. The louvre will open automatically.

Meaco App Control:

The MeacoCool Pro Series can be controlled via the Meaco app, available on the App Store or Google Play.

  1. Connect to Mains: Plug in the air conditioner and press the power button.
  2. Wi-Fi Indicator: The Wi-Fi indicator will flash. If no connection is made within 3 minutes, the LED turns off. To reconnect, hold the timer button for 5 seconds.
  3. App Pairing: Open the Meaco app, press the '+' button, select 'Add device', and allow the app to search for nearby devices.
  4. Confirmation: Once connected, the Wi-Fi symbol on the unit will stop flashing.

Water Drainage:

The air conditioner has two drainage ports: a central drainage port for Dry Mode and a lower drainage port for Heat Mode.

  • Dry Mode: The drainage hose should be attached to the central drainage port for continuous water removal.
  • Heat Mode: The drainage hose should be attached to the lower drainage port for continuous water removal.
  • Cool Mode: The unit has an internal water reservoir where water collects and is evaporated out via the duct. The bung for this reservoir should not be removed during cooling.
  • Manual Drainage: To drain the unit before moving or storing, unplug it, remove the plug from the drainage port (either central or lower, depending on the mode used), and allow water to drain into a bucket or over a drain. Ensure the hose is straight to prevent kinks.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning is crucial for maintaining the air conditioner's performance and validating its warranty.

General Cleaning:

  • Always unplug the unit from the mains before cleaning.
  • Do not allow the air conditioner to get wet.
  • Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used. Never spray water directly onto the device.

Dust Filter Cleaning:

The MeacoCool Pro Series uses life-long dust filters, located at the top and bottom of the unit. These filters are built into their cases and cannot be removed from them.

  1. Removal: Remove the dust filters from the air conditioner.
  2. Cleaning: Clean the filters using a hoover or soapy water (no hotter than 40°C).
  3. Drying and Reinstallation: Rinse the filters thoroughly and dry them completely before reinserting them into the air conditioner. It is recommended to clean the filters at least every two weeks, as clogged filters can impair performance and potentially invalidate the warranty.

Storing:

For long-term storage:

  1. Unplug and Drain: Remove the plug from the socket, detach the duct, and drain any collected water using the drainage hose.
  2. Cable Tidy: Use the cable tidy on the back of the unit to neatly wrap the power cable.
  3. Clean Filter: Clean the dust filters as per the maintenance instructions.
  4. Storage Location: Store the air conditioner in a dust-free location, away from direct sunlight, preferably covered with a plastic sheet.

The MeacoCool Pro Series is designed to be a reliable and efficient solution for climate control, offering user-friendly operation and straightforward maintenance to ensure long-lasting performance.
