1. General description
The sun sensor is used to measure the irradiance in photovoltaic systems. Among other
things, the instantaneous irradiance in W/m² and the module temperature in °C are available
as output signal. With the integrated high-resolution ADL-FE Field Extension, the analog
signal of the solar module is converted into a digital RS485 signal.

 Safe operation of this device requires proper and professional transportation, storage,
assembly and installation, operation and maintenance.
 Only trained and qualified personnel should work on this equipment. Such persons
are qualified if they have sufficient knowledge of the assembly, installation and
operation of the product as well as with all warnings and precautions noted in these
instructions. Further, it is trained, instructed or authorized to switch electric circuits
and devices on and off, to mark them appropriately to earth and in accordance with
the work requirements for established safety practices. It must have adequate safety
equipment and be trained in first aid.
 Use only manufacturer-approved accessories and spare parts.
 Observe safety regulations and requirements of the country in which the device is
used.
 The ambient conditions given in the product documentation must be adhered to.
 Commissioning is prohibited until the entire system complies with the national rules
and safety regulation of the application.
 Operation is only permitted if the national EMC rules for the application are met.
 The manufacturer of the machine or plant is responsible for compliance with the
required limits by national regulations.

 Technical data, connections and operational conditions are specified in the product
documentation and must be observed.
