Maintenance Features:

Regular care and maintenance are essential for ensuring consistent high-quality beverages and extending the appliance's lifespan.

  • General Cleaning: The exterior should be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth and mild washing-up liquid. The drip tray, coffee grounds container, and cup plate are dishwasher-safe. The bean container should be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Rinsing the Coffee System: The appliance performs automatic rinsing when switched on and off. Manual rinsing can also be initiated through the menu.
  • Brewing Unit Cleaning: Recommended weekly. The brewing unit can be easily removed and rinsed thoroughly under running water. Coffee residues from internal surfaces should be removed with a soft, dry cloth.
  • "Easy Cleaning" Programme: Rinses the milk system and is prompted after each milk-based beverage preparation. It can also be run manually.
  • "Cleaning Milk System" Programme: Recommended weekly for hygiene and to prevent damage. Requires a specific Melitta® PERFECT CLEAN milk system cleaning agent and takes approximately 3 minutes.
  • "Cleaning Coffee System" Programme: Recommended every 2 months or when prompted by the appliance, to remove coffee residues and oil. Requires Melitta® PERFECT CLEAN cleaning tabs and takes about 10 minutes.
  • "Descaling" Programme: Recommended every 3 months or when prompted, to remove limescale deposits. Requires Melitta® ANTI CALC liquid descaling agent and takes about 25 minutes. The water filter must be removed during this process.
  • Water Filter Usage: Using a water filter extends the appliance's service life and reduces descaling frequency. The water filter is screwed into the water tank and should be replaced when prompted. Water hardness is automatically set to "Soft" when a filter is in use.
  • Venting the Appliance: Recommended for long periods of non-use, before transport, or in case of frost risk, to remove residual water.
