y Do not attempt to operate the
appliance without putting water in
it. Only fresh, cold water should be
used in the appliance. Do not use hot
water.
y While water is boiling, or just after
the water has been boiled, avoid
contacting with steam from the spout
and lid.
y If the appliance is overlled, boiling

slowly and carefully without tipping

removed during the brewing cycle.

from the appliance. There are no user

appliance if it only works intermittently,

EXTENSION CORDS
y A short power-supply cord (or detachable
power-supply cord) is provided to reduce
risks resulting from becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord.
y Longer detachable power-supply cords or
extension cords are available and may be used
if care is exercised in their use.
y If a long detachable power-supply cord or
extension cord is used:
1. The marked electrical rating of the
detachable power-supply cord or extension
cord should be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance;
2. If the appliance is of the grounded type, the
extension cord should be a grounding type
3-wire cord; and
3. The longer cord should be arranged so
that it will not drape over the counter top
or table top where it can be pulled on by
children or tripped over.
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug, which means
that one blade is wider than the other. To reduce
the risk of electric shock, this plug is designed to t
into a polarized outlet only one way.
If the plug does not fully t into the outlet, reverse it.
If it still does not t, contact a qualied electrician.
Do not attempt to modify the plug.
OPERATION
1. BEFORE FIRST USE
y Ensure that the main voltage in your home
corresponds with the voltage that indicated
on the identication label on the base of the
appliance. (underside the kettle & base).
y Wash the kettle with a mild dish detergent.
y Read the BOILING WATER section.
y Cut the cord tie and insert plug cord to the wall
outlet.
y Clean the appliance by lling the water tank
with fresh, ltered, cold water to the MAX line.
y Turn on the appliance and allow the water to
run through a brew cycle.

y Boiling a full kettle of water twice.
y Wipe the surface with a damp cloth.
2. BOILING WATER
y To ll water into the kettle, remove it from the
power base.
y Open the lid to ll with the desired amount of
fresh, ltered, cold water.
Always ll the kettle between the minimum and
maximum marks. Too little water will result in
the kettle switching o before the water has
boiled.
Note: Do not ll the water over the maximum level,
as water may spill out of the spout when boiling.
y Close the lid and make sure the lid is rmly in
place.
y Position the kettle on the power base.
y Connect the plug into wall outlet. Turn on the
kettle by pressing the switch. The indicator will
light up. The kettle starts boiling.
y After the water boiling, the kettle will switch o
automatically. The illuminated switch will go o.
y The kettle can be turned o manually at any
time by turning o the switch. If you want to
boil water again, turn on the switch directly to
restart the kettle.
y Lift the kettle from the power base to pour the
water.
Note: Operate carefully when pouring the water
from the kettle as boiling water may result in scald,
besides, do not open the lid while the water in the
kettle is hot.
y The kettle will not re-boil until the switch is
pressed again. The kettle should be placed on
the power base when not in use.
Note: Always disconnected the power supply when
not in use.
DRY BOIL PROTECTION
Should you accidentally let the kettle operate with-
out water, the dry boil protection will automatically
switch o the power. If this occurs, allow the kettle
to cool before lling with cold water and before
re-boiling.
3. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
EXTERNAL CLEANING
y Before cleaning always remove the plug from
the socket.
y Never immerse appliance, cord or power base
in water. Or never allow moisture to contact
with these parts.
y The housing can be cleaned with a soft damp
cloth.
y When not in use or storage, the power cord
may be wound under the bottom of kettle.
CAUTION: Do not use chemical, steel, wooden or
abrasive cleaners to clean the outside of the kettle
to prevent the gloss loss.
DESCALING
The mineral content of the tap water in your area
and the frequency of use may form scale on the
bottom of kettle, which can aect the functioning of
your kettle and the avor of the boiled water. For
best performance from your kettle, we recommend
cleaning it periodically.
Follow the manufacturer instructions regarding
amounts and pour the descaling agent into the ket-
tle. Alternatively, you may follow below instructions
using the white vinegar.
y Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar, then
adding water to the amount so as to cover the
bottom of kettle completely.
y Leave the solution in the kettle overnight.
y Then discard the mixture in the kettle, ll the
kettle with clean water, boiling and then discard
the water.
y Repeat several times until the odor of vinegar
has been ushes away.
y Any stains remaining inside the kettle can be
removed by rubbing with a damp cloth.
