Usage Features

The manual outlines several key usage features and operating procedures:

Safety Precautions:

  • Always assume the tool contains nails and do not point it towards yourself or others.
  • Actuate the tool only when placed firmly against the workpiece.
  • Disconnect from the power source (remove battery) when clearing jams.
  • Exercise caution when removing jammed nails as the mechanism may be under compression.
  • Do not use for fastening electrical cables.
  • Hold the tool by insulated gripping surfaces when there's a risk of contacting hidden wiring.
  • Always wear eye protection (ANSI Z87.1 compliant) with side shields. Additional hearing and head protection may be required in noisy or hazardous environments.
  • Keep fingers away from the trigger when not driving fasteners.
  • Wear a dust mask in dusty conditions.
  • Wear hearing protection during extended operation.
  • Battery tools are always in operating condition; be aware of hazards when not in use or changing accessories.
  • Do not place battery tools or batteries near fire or heat.
  • Use the tool only for its intended purpose and with recommended nails/staples.

Operating Procedures:

  • Inserting and Removing Battery Pack: Insert until it clicks, remove by depressing lock buttons.
  • LED Indicator:
    • Red Flashing: Jammed nails/staples.
    • Red On: Low battery.
    • Green On: No nails, dry fire protection.
    • Green Flashing: Overheat protection (tool will not fire until cooled).
  • LED Lighting: Turns on when the machine is working or by pressing the work light switch.
  • Checking Contact Trip Mechanism: Ensure the safety nose/contact pin and trigger move freely when empty. The tool should not fire when the contact pin is pressed against a workpiece without pulling the trigger.
  • Inserting Staples or Nails:
    1. Remove battery.
    2. Press release button and pull out magazine cover.
    3. Tilt tool (approx. 45° angle) and place nails/staples into the track.
    4. Ensure fasteners are correctly oriented: staples against the profiled side with crowns in the topmost part (legs facing away from the tool); nails against the profiled side with points downwards (leg in the bottom of the magazine).
    5. Close magazine cover until it engages.
    6. Reattach battery pack.
    • Warning: Do not mix fasteners of different lengths or types.
  • Firing Modes:
    • Single Firing Mode: Push the drive shift (single/contact firing knob) to the left. Good for precision placement.
    • Contact Firing Mode: Push the drive shift (single/contact firing knob) to the right. Good for convenient and quickly firing.
  • Depth Adjustment Wheel (FIG. 8): Turn the wheel towards the arrow for more depth, or away from the arrow for less depth.
  • Impact Force Knob (FIG. 10): Adjusts impact force from stages 1 (lowest) to 6 (highest) based on material. Field-testing is recommended.
  • Removing a Jammed Nail or Staple (FIG. 9):
    1. Remove battery.
    2. Open magazine, remove fasteners.
    3. If jammed, open nosepiece by pulling upwards, then remove jammed pieces.
    4. Use pliers if necessary.
    5. Re-tighten nosepiece.
    6. With magazine open, re-insert battery and shoot 2-3 times to clear, then reload.

Maintenance Features

  • General Maintenance: Always remove the battery before performing any work on the machine.
  • Cleaning Nail Channel: If the tool fails to drive a nail or cycles without driving, glue residue from the nail strip may need to be cleaned.
    1. Remove battery pack.
    2. Remove nails from the tool.
    3. Open the jam release latch and magazine.
    4. Use a small amount of air tool oil on a clean cloth or cotton swab to wipe down the nail channel, removing all traces of glue.
    5. Reinstall nails and close the magazine.
  • Plastic Parts: Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts as they are susceptible to damage. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, and grease.

Troubleshooting

The manual includes a troubleshooting guide for common issues:

  • Work-contacting pin does not depress fully / tool does not operate: Low nails (replenish), work-contacting pin jammed (remove battery and clear debris).
  • Tool operates properly, but fasteners do not drive fully: Air pressure too low (increase), depth of drive not deep enough (adjust), nail too long for wood hardness (use appropriate length).
  • Tool operates properly, but fasteners are driven too deep: Air pressure too high (decrease), depth of drive too deep (adjust).
  • Tool jams frequently: Incorrect nails (verify size), damaged nails (replace), loose magazine (tighten screws), dirty magazine (clean).
  • Tool stops and LEDs flash rapidly: Battery low/no charge (recharge), tool hot (allow to cool).
  • Tool has charged battery and LEDs are slowly flashing or do not turn off after ten seconds of non-use: Tool has malfunctioned (take to authorized repair center).
  • Tool will not drive a fastener or cycles without driving a fastener: Driving mechanism dirty (clean nail channel as described in Maintenance).
