DMX -512 Control Connections
This xture complies with international USITT DMX standards and can be used
with either a 3 pin or 5 pin DMX connector. Plug in the provided 3 pin XLR cable
to the female 3 pin XLR output of your controller and the other side to the male
3 pin XLR input or the LED TRI BAR V2. To connect the units to DMX, you must
daisy chain the xtures together as a referred in the diagram below. Always end
your DMX-512 connection with at DMX terminator.
For installations where the DMX cable has to run for a long distance, or as an
electrically noisy environment, it is recommended to use a DMX terminator. This
helps in preventing corruption of the digital control signal by electrical noise. The
DMX terminator is simply an XLR plug with a 120 resistor connected between pins
two and three, which is then plugged into the output XLR socket of the last xture
in the chain.
