Wrap chain around chainring and largest cog. Add two full inner links from overlap point and cut.

For non-quick connector chains: add two inner links and one outer plate from overlap point and cut.

Cut the chain using a chain breaker tool.

Route chain over smallest cog, front of guide pulley, behind prevention plate, and behind tension pulley. Connect chain.

Shifting Adjustment

Shifting Adjustment - Part I (Clutch Rear Derailleur Only)

Enable clutch by moving switch to closed circle position before adjusting shifting.

Shifting Adjustment - Part II

Shift to 2nd cog. Turn shifter barrel adjuster counter-clockwise if chain doesn't move.

Shifting Adjustment - Part III

Adjust barrel adjuster counter-clockwise for slow shifts to larger cogs, clockwise for smaller cogs.

L-Limit Screw Adjustment

L-Limit Screw Adjustment - Part I

Shift to largest cog. Push derailleur past cog; adjust low limit screw if it moves past.

L-Limit Screw Adjustment - Part II

Tighten low limit screw until derailleur cannot move past largest cog. Loosen if slow to shift.

B-Tension Screw Adjustment

B-Tension Screw Adjustment - Part I

With chain in largest cog, adjust B-tension screw for 5-7mm gap between guide pulley and largest cog teeth.
