Overview

The Midea Rice Cooker 3000 Series is designed to provide a convenient and safe cooking experience for household use. This user manual outlines its functions, usage, and maintenance procedures to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the appliance.

Function Description

The Midea Rice Cooker 3000 Series offers a variety of cooking functions, including:

  • White Rice: For cooking standard white rice. Users can adjust the water quantity based on personal preference and the rice-water ratio guidelines provided in the manual.
  • Jasmine Rice: Specifically designed for cooking jasmine rice, with adjustable water quantity based on the rice-water ratio.
  • Quick Rice: A function for faster rice cooking, also allowing for water quantity adjustments.
  • Congee: For preparing congee (porridge), with the option to adjust water quantity according to desired consistency.
  • Claypot: This function allows for cooking claypot-style dishes. It involves mixing ingredients and condiments, marinating them, and then adding rice, peanut oil, and water to the inner pot. After an initial cooking phase, prepared ingredients are added, and cooking continues until finished.
  • Steam: For steaming food. Water is added to the inner pot according to the cooking time, and food ingredients are placed in the steamer or sugar-draining container before being put into the pot for steaming.
  • Keep Warm/Cancel: This button serves a dual purpose. Pressing it once activates the warm-keeping mode, which automatically triggers after cooking to maintain food temperature above 65 degrees Celsius for up to 24 hours. Pressing it during an active cooking function will cancel the selected function.

Usage Features

The rice cooker is designed for ease of use with a clear display screen and intuitive buttons:

  • Operation Panel: The panel includes a display screen showing "REMAINING" time, and buttons for "KEEP WARM/CANCEL," "TIMER," "MENU," and "START."
  • Reservation Function (Timer): Users can set a timer to appoint a specific time for cooking completion. For example, to finish cooking in 8 hours, users prepare rice and water, select a function (e.g., "QUICK RICE"), then press the "TIMER" button to set the desired reservation time. The cooking will then start automatically to finish at the appointed time. It is recommended that the pre-set time not exceed 12 hours to prevent the rice from smelling bad, and the pre-set time should not be less than the actual cooking time of the selected function.
  • Rice Measuring Method: One measuring cup of rice typically yields two bowls of steamed rice.
  • Rice-water Ratio Guidelines: The manual provides specific water level lines for different rice types (White Rice, Congee Porridge, Steam) to ensure optimal cooking results. For Essence Rice, Firewood Rice, Quick Rice, and Mixed Rice, the water level line depends on the rice type. For porridge, the porridge water line should be followed. When steaming, care should be taken not to add too much water to avoid overflowing or too little water, which could lead to undercooked food.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Always use the original inner pot for heating. For products with a metal steamer, it should not be used as a separate container to prevent overheating or fire.
    • Avoid dropping the inner pot or hitting it with hard objects to prevent deformation. A deformed inner pot must be replaced.
    • Do not touch the inner pot or heating plate directly during or immediately after operation to prevent burns.
    • Improper repair or short-circuiting, especially involving important accessories like the fuse, can lead to protection failure and fire.
    • Individuals with cardiac pacemakers or implanted cochlear implants should consult medical personnel before use.
    • Ensure the cooking pot and steam valve are properly in place before operation.
    • The appliance may tick or fizz slightly during use, which is normal.
    • Allow at least 15 minutes for the heating plate to cool down before cooking again.
    • For products with a hot water cooking function, follow the Quick Start Guide. Do not use hot water for products without this function, as it can affect the thermostat and cooking quality.
    • The appliance is designed for altitudes between 0 and 2000 meters.
    • When cooking more than 4 cups of rice, do not use the steamer to steam food to ensure the best results.
    • In environments with insufficient grounding, sensitive individuals may experience static electricity. Ensure the grounding device is reliable, or avoid touching metal housing and the inner cooking pot.
    • Before use, clear any water, rice, or foreign objects between the inner pot and heating coil to prevent overheating or short circuits.
    • Wipe the exterior of the inner pot dry before use to prevent malfunctions.
    • This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised. Children should be supervised to prevent them from playing with the appliance.
    • Do not cover the steam valve with cloth or place flammable materials near it during operation. Keep it away from curtains or drapes.
    • Avoid cooking foods that can easily block the vent, such as flaky foods (laver, cabbage) or banded foods (kelp, corn grits).
    • Do not place hands or face near the steam vent during operation.
    • Only authorized maintenance personnel should disassemble or repair the appliance.
    • Use only with 220V AC to avoid fire and electric shock. Do not use if the power wire is damaged.
    • Avoid forcibly bending the power cord, keeping it near high-temperature objects, tying it up, or using it to carry weights.
    • If the power plug is damaged, do not use the appliance. If the power line is too short, use an extension socket of good quality.
    • Do not pull the plug with wet hands.
    • Do not move or shake the appliance during operation.
    • Keep the appliance out of reach of unsupervised children and babies.
    • Place the appliance on a stable, dry surface, at least 30 cm away from other fire and heat sources.
    • Do not insert pins, iron wire, or other articles into the steam vent.
    • Do not immerse the appliance in water.
    • Use a grounded socket with a rated current above 10 A. Avoid using it with other electrical appliances on the same socket.
    • Clean dust and water from both ends of the power line and the socket regularly.
    • The plug should be thoroughly inserted into the socket.
    • For type X connectors, a damaged power cord must be replaced with a dedicated cord or component from the manufacturer. For type Y connectors, replacement should be done by professionals.
    • The appliance is for household use only and should not be connected to a timer or independent remote control system.
    • Certain surfaces may become hot during operation; avoid touching the hot plate and product surface by hand.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the appliance's performance and safety:

  • Cleaning the Cooker Body:
    • Ensure the product is not powered on during cleaning.
    • Wipe the inner lid with a damp cloth; do not wash directly with water.
    • Remove the steam valve and clean it.
    • Clean any water, rice grains, or debris from the water storage tank, electric heating plate, and lid hinge parts.
    • Clean and dry the bottom and sides of the inner pot.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues:
    • Too soft/hard/thick/thin rice, not cooked, burnt, soup overflowing, insufficient boiling: Possible reasons include incorrect water level, wrong function selection, foreign matter on the coil plate, improper steam valve installation, or inner pot deformation. Solutions involve adjusting water, selecting the correct function, removing foreign matter, ensuring steam valve is in place, or contacting customer service for inner pot replacement.
    • Peculiar smell, discoloration, dry during heat preservation: Possible reasons include foreign matter in the sealing ring/inner pot edge, product air leakage, or too long warm preservation time. Solutions include removing foreign objects, contacting customer service for sealing ring replacement, and limiting warm preservation to within 5 hours.
    • Abnormal noise during operation: Possible reasons include water on the inner pot not being dried or on/off sounds during operation. Solutions are to dry the inner pot before use; on/off sounds are considered normal.
  • Warm Keeping Reminder:
    • The heat preservation function automatically triggers after cooking.
    • During warm keeping, the product maintains a temperature above 65 degrees Celsius.
    • The product can keep warm for up to 24 hours.
    • To maintain food taste and appearance, it is suggested to limit heat preservation time to within 5 hours.
    • It is recommended to loosen the rice within 30 minutes of keeping warm for better taste.

The Midea Rice Cooker 3000 Series is designed to be a reliable and versatile kitchen appliance, with clear instructions to ensure safe and effective use.
