Main operations
Turning on and o
Press the red control (1) for 1 second to turn on the radio; push it for 2 seconds
to switch if o.
Volume adjustment
Press VOL- (4)/VOL+ (3) to adjust the volume to the desired level; keep them
pressed for a quick adjustment.
Channel selection
Rotate the main knob (14) to select the desired channel.
Channels can also be selected by pressing shortly or long the UP/DOWN controls
of the microphone 3 5;
SQ Squelch adjustment
1. Press briefly SQ-M1 (9). The display will show the current value. Select the
main knob (14) or press the / keys to adjust to the desired level.
2. To confirm your selection press the main knob (14) or PTT (1) or wait for 6
seconds.
DS Squelch adjustment (digital squelch)
1. Press briefly DS-M2 (10); The display will show the current value.
2. Select the main knob (14) or press the right/left arrow keys to adjust to the
desired level.
3. To confirm your selection press the main knob (14) or PTT (1) or wait for 6
seconds.
If you have set the DS Squelch (digital squelch), it will have the priority on SQ
squelch SQ; the type of squelch ‘in use’ will be shown in red color on the display.
Note: The Squelch function allows to mute the speaker when the radio does not receive
any signal. The higher the squelch level, the stronger must be the signals in order to be
heard. The squelch must be adjusted according to the background noise.
To disable shortly the two types of squelch, press FN (5) followed by VOL+ MON
(3). The display will show the icon
to indicate that the squelch is opened with the
MONITOR function activated.
Repeat the procedure to disable the MONITOR function.
RF GAIN level adjustment
RF gain is very useful in presence of strong signals because it can control and re-
duce the rx sensitivity.
