Problem Possible cause and solution
Too much ground coffee There is too much ground coffee in the ground coffee
chute.
The brew unit cannot compact ground coffee if more
than 12g (2level spoonfuls) of ground coffee are
added to the coffee chute. The ground coffee will be
emptied into the grounds container and the fault
message will appear in the display.
Switch the coffee machine off with the On/Off
button.
Remove and clean the brew unit (see “Removing
the brew unit and cleaning it by hand”).
Remove the ground coffee inside the coffee
machine, e.g., with a vacuum cleaner.
Place a maximum of 12g of coffee in the ground
coffee chute.
There is too much ground coffee in the ground coffee
chute.
Certain types of coffee produce a lot of coffee when
they are ground. Usually the grinder is set too coarse
and the amount is set to maximum.
Set the grinder to a finer setting.
Select a smaller amount of coffee.
If the coffee is still not to your taste, e.g., too weak,
try another type of bean.
