1. Unpacktheunitandretainallpackingmaterialuntilyouverifyproper
productoperation.
2. Theunitrestsonfourvibrationisolatorpads.lacetheunitonasuit-
ablesurface,suchasabench,desk,ortable.Besurenottoblock
theventilationholeslocatedonthemotorhousing.
3. Selectappropriately-siedtubing,accordingtoyourapplication.Use
approximately1/4in..D.tubingtowithstandtheanticipatedpressure
orvacuum.
CAUTION: Duringvacuumltration,usethesuppliedMillex-FA

hydrophobicventlter,topreventexcessiveamountsof
liquidsormistfromenteringthepump(gure1.For
maximumprotection,useavacuum-askwatertrap
(gure2.
4. reparethenecessaryequipmentorlterholderandconnectthe
tubingtotheequipment.Donotconnectthetubingtothepump.
5. lugthepowercordintoanappropriateelectricalsource.
CAUTION: Donotturnthepumponwithequipmentorlterholder
alreadyattached.
fthepumpisinadvertentlyturnedonwiththetubingfullyconnected
anditdoesnotrun,turnoffthepumpanddisconnectthetubing.
Restartthepumpandthenreconnectthetubing.fthepumps
thermaloverloadswitchautomaticallyshutsoffthemotor,disconnect
thetubingandallowthepumptocoolforatleast10minutesbefore
restarting.Reconnectthetubingonlyafterthepumpisoperating.
6. Turnonthepump,usingthetoggleswitchlocatedonthefrontofthe
pump.
7. Connectthetubingfromthelterholderorotherequipmenttothe
pumpandbeginyourprocedure.
8. fusingtheumforvacuumAdjustthevacuumbyclosingthe
pressureregulatorandopeningthevacuumregulatorfully(counter-
clockwise.Slowlytightendown(clockwisethevacuumregulator
untilyouobtainthedesiredvacuumreading.
fusingtheumforressureAdjustthepressurebyturningthe
vacuumregulatordownfullyandopeningthepressurefully.Slowly
tightendownthepressureregulatoruntilyouobtainthedesired
pressurereading.
9. Turnoffthepumpwhenyouarenished.Disconnectthetubingrst
fromthepumpandthenfromthelterholderorotherequipment.
