RelacingtheO-ring
1. Unscrewthefoursocket-capscrewsfromthepumpheadandunscrew
thetwoscrewsfromthepumphandle.Removethepumphead
assemblyfromthetopofthepump.
2. Removethevehillips-headscrewsthatholdthevalveplate
assemblytotheundersideofthepumpheadassembly.
3. RemovetheO-ringandreplaceitbypressingthenewO-ringintothe
groove.
4. Replacethevalveplateassemblywiththerecessedscrewholes
facingoutandtightenthevehillips-headscrews.
5. Replacethepumpheadassemblyandtightenthesockethead
screws.
Troubleshooting
Vacuumroblems
Leakage,contaminationandunusualout-gassingarethegeneralcauses
ofproblemsassociatedwithpoorvacuum.Tooperateatmaximum
efciency,asystemmustbethoroughlyclean.fthesystemis
completelycleanandfreefromleaks,andunwarrantedvacuum
problemsstillexist,thepumpshouldbechecked.Asimplecriterionfor
theconditionofthepumpisthedeterminationofitsmaximumvacuum
capability.Thiscanbeaccomplishedbyblockingtheintakeandreading
thevacuumlevelonthegauge.

Leakageandcontaminationarethegeneralcausesofproblems
associatedwithpoorpressure.Tooperateatmaximumefciency,a
systemmustbethoroughlyclean.fthesystemiscompletelyclean
andfreefromleaks,andunwarrantedpressureproblemsstillexist,the
