bar and the chain clamping guard when running the chainsaw without cutting timber, or only cutting
small (75-150mm) timber.
After the saw is shut down this accumulated oil through gravity will run down to the lowest point of the
saw and if the saw is placed on a surface, that surface will have oil on it. Some people may regard this
oil as “oil leaking” when in fact it is normal.
Milwaukee has tested the M18FCHS oil dispersal specifically and has been found to be operating
normally.
While it does deliver an oil volume higher than other chainsaws on the market, it is because:
a. provides better lubrication to reduce chain drag in the guide bar which reduces power
required to drive the chain, hence better performance and run time on a battery.
b. Also provides sufficient oil for full bar cuts.
How should I store my chainsaw?
The chainsaw should be stored in a dry and high or locked area out of the reach of children. Always
place cover on the bar and sit the chainsaw horizontally on a flat surface. Be mindful that accumulated
oil will run down to the lowest point of the saw and if the saw is placed on a surface, that surface will
have oil on it. If the chainsaw is stored hanging, gravity will naturally run the accumulated oil to the tip
of the bar and may drip to the lowest surface.
