Overview

The Milwaukee pH600 is a digital pH pen designed for measuring pH levels. It is a compact and portable device, measuring 150x30x24 mm and weighing 85g, making it easy to handle and carry.

Function Description:

The pH600 functions as a digital pH meter, providing readings for the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. It is equipped with a sensing probe that is immersed into the solution to take measurements, and a liquid crystal display to show the pH value. The device is designed for ease of use with a simple on/off switch.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Range: The pH600 can measure pH values from 0.0 to 14.0 pH.
  • Resolution: It offers a resolution of 0.1 pH, allowing for precise readings.
  • Accuracy (@20°C): The device has an accuracy of ±0.1 pH at 20°C.
  • Typical EMC Deviation: The typical electromagnetic compatibility deviation is ±0.2 pH.
  • Environment: It operates effectively in environments with temperatures ranging from 5 to 50°C and up to 95% relative humidity.
  • Battery Type: The pH600 is powered by three 1.5V alkaline batteries.
  • Battery Life: The batteries provide approximately up to 700 hours of continuous use.
  • Dimensions: 150x30x24 mm.
  • Weight: 85g.

Usage Features:

  • Simple Operation: To use the pH600, the protective cap is removed, and the device is turned on. The sensing probe is then immersed into the solution up to the maximum immersion level. Gentle stirring is recommended, and the user should wait for the display to stabilize before taking a reading.
  • Calibration: The pH600 features a straightforward calibration process. It requires immersion in a pH 7.01 buffer solution (M10007B) up to the maximum level. Once the reading stabilizes, a small screwdriver is used to adjust the pH 7 Calibration Trimmer until the display reads 7.0. It is crucial to always use fresh buffer for calibration and never reuse it.
  • Immersion Levels: The device indicates both minimum and maximum immersion levels for accurate readings.
  • Pocket Clip: A pocket clip is included for convenient carrying.
  • Safety Precautions: Users are advised not to use the meter in hazardous environments or perform measurements in microwave ovens to avoid damage or burns. The device should not be stored in distilled or deionized water.

Maintenance Features:

  • Post-Use Cleaning: After each use, the electrode should be rinsed with water to minimize contamination.
  • Storage: For proper storage, a few drops of storage solution (MA9015) should be placed in the protective cap, and the cap should always be replaced after use.
  • Battery Replacement: When the pH600 cannot be switched on or the display fades, the battery compartment can be pulled out. All three 1.5V alkaline batteries should be replaced, paying attention to their polarity. Battery replacement should only occur in a non-hazardous area.
  • Troubleshooting: Large differences in pH readings (e.g., ±0.5 pH) may indicate a need for calibration, a dry electrode, or rundown batteries.
  • Electrode Care: The appearance of white crystals around the cap is normal for pH electrodes and will dissolve when rinsed with water.
  • Accessories: A range of accessories is available for maintenance and operation, including:
    • MA9015 Storage solution (230ml)
    • MA9016 General cleaning solution (230ml)
    • MA9300 1.5V battery (10 pcs.)
    • MA9701 Calibration Screwdrivers (20pcs)
    • M10000B Rinse solution 20mL sachet (25pcs.)
    • M10004B pH 4.01 20mL sachet buffer solution (25pcs.)
    • M10007B pH 7.01 20mL sachet buffer solution (25pcs.)
    • M10010B pH 10.01 20mL sachet buffer solution (25pcs.)

Certification and Warranty:

The Milwaukee pH600 conforms to CE European Directives and is RoHS compliant. It comes with a 2-year warranty against defects in materials and manufacturing from the date of purchase, while the probe is warranted for 6 months. The warranty covers repair or free replacement if the instrument cannot be repaired, but does not cover damage due to accidents, misuse, tampering, or lack of prescribed maintenance.

Disposal:

The product and its batteries should not be treated as household waste. They should be handed over to appropriate collection points for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment and batteries, respectively. This ensures proper disposal and prevents potential negative consequences for human health and the environment. Further information on disposal can be obtained from local household waste disposal services or by visiting www.milwaukeeinstruments.com (USA & CAN) or www.milwaukeeinst.com.
