Function Description:
The Minka-Aire® JAVA LED ceiling fan provides air movement and illumination. It operates with a remote control/wall control system, allowing users to adjust fan speeds and light settings. The fan offers three distinct speed settings: Low, Medium, and High. The integrated LED light kit provides adjustable brightness. A key feature of this fan is its reversible blade rotation, enabling both summer operation (counterclockwise direction for a cooling effect) and winter operation (clockwise direction for circulating warm air). The fan is equipped with a wattage limiting device, which automatically shuts off the light kit if lamping exceeds 75 watts, in compliance with the Energy Policy Act of 2005. The Aire Control® System includes a learning frequency function with 256 code combinations to prevent interference from other remote units.

Usage Features:
- Remote Control/Wall Control: The fan comes with a hand-held remote (A23 12 volt battery included) and can be operated via a wall control.
- Fan Speed Control: Dedicated buttons for Low, Medium, and High speeds, and an "OFF" button to turn the fan off.
- Light Control: Buttons to turn the light ON or OFF and adjust brightness. The light key has an automatic auto-resume feature, retaining the last brightness setting.
- Direction Reversal: A button on the remote (or a slide reverse switch on the motor housing for models without the button) allows changing the blade rotation direction for seasonal comfort.
- Summer Operation (Counterclockwise): Creates a downward airflow for a cooling effect.
- Winter Operation (Clockwise): Creates an upward airflow to circulate warm air.
- Frequency Interference Prevention: The Aire Control® System is pre-set at the factory to prevent interference. If interference occurs, a procedure is provided to change the frequency settings on the control system.
- Installation Flexibility: Can be mounted to a ceiling fan outlet box or a joist. Longer downrods are available for steep, sloped ceilings.
Maintenance Features:
- Regular Inspections: Due to natural movement, connections may loosen. Support connections, brackets, and blade attachments should be checked twice a year to ensure they are secure.
- Cleaning:
- Fan: Clean periodically with a soft brush or lint-free cloth to maintain appearance and avoid scratching the finish. Do not use water, as it can damage the motor or cause electrical shock.
- Plated Finishes: Sealed with lacquer to minimize discoloration or tarnishing.
- Wood Veneer Blades: A light coat of furniture polish can be applied for protection and beauty. Small scratches can be covered with shoe polish.
- Blades: Use a lint-free, lightly damp cloth or duster to remove dust.
- Glass Shades: Clean with lukewarm soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge. Do NOT immerse glass shades in hot water or put them in an automatic dishwasher.
- Lubrication: The motor has permanently lubricated bearings, so there is no need to oil the fan.
- Balancing Kit: A balancing kit is provided to correct any excessive wobble.
- Power Disconnection: Always ensure power is off at the electrical panel box before attempting any repairs or maintenance.
Warranty:
The Minka-Aire® warranty is for one (1) year from the date of purchase from an authorized dealer, covering defects in material and workmanship (excluding light bulbs). The motor is warranted for the lifetime of the fan (excluding wall controls and electrical components). The warranty is voided by using non-Minka-Aire® electrical devices, if the original purchaser no longer owns the fan, if the fan is moved from its original installation point, or if a non-Minka Aire hanger bracket is used.
