  If you get a Mechanical Limit Alert on your Misonix Medical Equipment, it could be due to tip overload. Try releasing the footswitch and reducing tip pressure, or use a higher amplitude setting. Another cause might be a loose or damaged component. In that case, release the footswitch, set the ultrasound to STANDBY, remove the silicone sleeve and probe cover, and inspect the extension probe and ultrasonic tip for damage. Replace if necessary, or re-tighten the extension probe and tip using the correct wrenches. Finally, a defective handpiece could be the reason; if the alert persists after the above steps, the handpiece may need replacement.

  If you're experiencing a lack of irrigant with your Misonix Medical Equipment, it might be due to a closed or empty fluid bag. Set the ultrasound to STANDBY and check the fluid bag and tubing clamp, replacing the fluid bag if necessary. Another cause could be disconnected tubing; ensure you set the ultrasound to STANDBY, check all tubing connections, and verify the mounting in the pump head, closing the pump cover until locked. Alternatively, the tubing may be obstructed or defective; set the ultrasound to STANDBY, inspect the tubing for kinking, restrictions, or leaks, and replace it if needed. Also, verify the mounting in the pump head and ensure the pump cover is securely closed.

  Why is there a lack of irrigant in my Misonix Medical Equipment? One potential reason is that the tubing is installed in reverse. To fix this, set the ultrasound to STANDBY, open the pump cover, reposition the tubing in the direction of flow, and close the pump cover until locked. Another possibility is that the tubing is sliding through the pump. To address this, set the ultrasound to STANDBY, open the pump cover, and adjust the grip of the tubing by turning the adjustment wheel underneath the front and back of the pump assembly. Also, the pump itself might be defective. To check this, set the ultrasound to STANDBY, open the pump cover, and see if the pump rollers are rotating when depressing the footswitch. If they are not, replace the console.
