Overview

The Mitsubishi Electric Lossnay Remote Controller (PZ-41SLB-E) is a sophisticated control unit designed to manage Lossnay ventilation systems, offering both independent and interlocked operation modes. This remote controller provides comprehensive control over ventilation modes, fan speeds, and various system settings, ensuring optimal indoor air quality and energy efficiency.

Function Description

The Lossnay Remote Controller serves as the primary interface for operating Lossnay ventilation units. It features a clear display section that provides real-time information on the system's status, including:

  • Ventilation Modes: The display indicates the current ventilation mode, which can be Heat Recovery (Heat Exchange), By-pass, or Automatic (Heat Exchange/By-pass). In Heat Recovery mode, the system recovers heat from exhaust air to pre-condition incoming fresh air, improving energy efficiency. By-pass mode allows fresh air to enter directly without heat exchange, useful when outdoor temperatures are mild. Automatic mode intelligently switches between Heat Recovery and By-pass based on indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Fan Speed: The selected fan speed (Low or High) is clearly displayed, allowing users to adjust airflow as needed.
  • System Status Indicators:
    • [2-CONTROLLERS] Display: Appears when two remote controllers are operating the same Lossnay unit(s), indicating that the most recent button operations from either controller will take priority.
    • [INTERLOCKED] Display: Illuminates when the Lossnay unit is activated by an interlocked indoor unit or an external signal, signifying integrated system operation.
    • Power Display: Stays on when the remote controller is powered.
    • [CHECK] Display: Appears alongside a 3-digit unit number and a 4-digit error code in case of a malfunction, aiding in troubleshooting.
    • Delay Time Display: Shows the current delay time setting or the remaining delay time during operation.
    • [FILTER] Display: Flashes when the accumulated operating time reaches the set interval for air filter maintenance, prompting the user to clean or replace the filters.
  • Operation Lamp: This lamp is lit during normal operation and flashes to indicate a malfunction.

The remote controller includes several buttons for intuitive control:

  • [ON/OFF] Button: Toggles the Lossnay unit between run and stop states. The lamp on this button remains lit during operation.
  • Ventilation Mode Selector Button: Allows users to cycle through Heat Recovery, By-pass, and Automatic ventilation modes.
  • Fan Speed Adjustment Button: Used to select either "Low" or "High" fan speed.
  • [DELAY START] Button: Sets the delay time for interlocked operation.
  • [FILTER] Button: Used to reset the filter sign display after maintenance.

Usage Features

The Lossnay Remote Controller offers flexible operation modes to suit various installation and usage scenarios:

Independent Operation

In independent operation, the Lossnay unit is controlled directly via the remote controller.

  1. Starting the Unit: Pressing the ON/OFF button turns on the operation lamp and starts the Lossnay unit. If two remote controllers are in use, the [2-CONTROLLERS] display will activate.
  2. Setting Ventilation Mode: The Function Selector button cycles through Heat Recovery, By-pass, and Automatic modes. In Automatic mode, the display will show the current situation after two seconds.
  3. Selecting Fan Speed: The Fan Speed Adjustment button allows selection between Low and High fan speeds.
  4. Stopping the Unit: Pressing the ON/OFF button again turns off the operation lamp and stops the Lossnay unit.

Interlocked Operation with Indoor Unit or External Signal

The Lossnay unit can be integrated with external devices like air conditioners or building management systems. In this mode, the remote controller's [INTERLOCKED] display will turn on. Ventilation mode and fan speed selection remain the same as in independent operation.

Settings for Interlocking:

  • Delay Time Setting: This feature determines the time delay between the external device's start of operation and the Lossnay unit's activation. The delay time can be set from 0 to 60 minutes in 10-minute increments using the DELAY START button. A 0-minute delay is the factory default.
  • Interlocked Mode Setting: This setting defines how the Lossnay unit responds to external device commands. To access this setting, press and hold the Function Selector button for at least 5 seconds. The modes include:
    • ON/OFF Interlocking (Factory Setting): The Lossnay unit starts and stops in sync with the external device. Subsequent operation via the remote controller is possible.
    • ON Interlocking: The Lossnay unit starts with the external device, but stopping it requires the remote controller.
    • OFF Interlocking: The Lossnay unit stops with the external device, but starting it requires the remote controller.
    • ON/OFF Interlocking (External Inputs Have Priority): Similar to the factory setting, but the Lossnay unit cannot be stopped using the remote controller while the external device is operating.

Function Selection Settings

The remote controller allows for advanced configuration of filter maintenance intervals and delayed interlocked operation.

  • Setting for Filter Maintenance: The filter cleaning interval can be set to 1500, 3000 (factory setting), 4500 hours, or OFF. To adjust, press and hold the FILTER button for at least 5 seconds. The [FILTER] display will flash when the set operating time is reached.
  • Setting for Delayed Interlocked Operation: This setting, configured using the DELAY START button, determines the delay before the Lossnay unit starts after an external device activates.
  • Setting for Interlocked Mode: Configured using the Function Selector button, this defines the interaction between the Lossnay unit and external devices.

Trial Operation

After installation, a trial operation is crucial. When power is supplied, the [HO] display flashes for approximately 40 seconds, after which the system enters operation-start mode. The trial operation involves:

  1. Initiating power supply.
  2. Pressing ON/OFF to start the unit.
  3. Cycling through ventilation modes (Heat Exchange, By-pass, Automatic).
  4. Toggling fan speeds (Low, High).
  5. Pressing ON/OFF to stop the unit.

Maintenance Features

The Lossnay Remote Controller incorporates features to facilitate maintenance and ensure long-term performance.

  • Filter Cleaning Display: The [FILTER] display flashes when the accumulated operating time reaches the preset interval, indicating that air filter maintenance is due.
    • Filter Reset: After cleaning or replacing the air filter and Lossnay core (as per the user's manual), press the [FILTER] button twice in quick succession to reset the filter sign display.
  • Remote Controller Care: To clean the display window, wipe it with a cloth dampened with detergent, then with a dry cloth to remove any residue. Avoid using paint thinner, alcohol, benzene, gasoline, kerosene, spray cleaner, or cleaning alkali, as these can damage the unit.
  • Error Code Display: In case of a malfunction, the [CHECK] display will show a unit number and an error code (e.g., 4000, 5101, 5102, 3602, 0900). These codes help identify specific issues, such as SW2 trial-operation switch being on, incorrect Main/Sub switch settings for multiple units, remote controller connection issues, multi-core cable usage instead of signal wires, circuit abnormalities, or breakdowns in the Lossnay thermo or damper motor. For these issues, users are advised to turn off the power supply and contact the dealer for further instructions or perform specific troubleshooting steps as outlined in the manual.
  • Power Restoration: If power is restored after an outage or a breaker reset, all modes will revert to their condition before the power interruption, ensuring continuity of operation.

The Lossnay Remote Controller is designed for ease of use and comprehensive control, making it an essential component for managing Lossnay ventilation systems effectively.
