6.Inserttheotherendoftheevactubeassembly
intothemastercylinderuidreservoir,andpush
thevacuumbleederthrottleforwardtostartthe
vacuum(allowafewsecondsforvacuumto
buildinthebleederreservoirbeforesuctionoc-
curs).Whileevacuatingtheolduid,stiritupto
breaklooseandremoveanysludgethathasac-
cumulatedonthebottomandwallsofthemaster
cylinder.
7.Oncealluidisremoved,turnoffthebleeder
andrellthemastercylinderwithnewmanufac-
turer’srecommendedbrakeuid.

brakeuid.Anautomaticmastercylinderrellkit
isincludedwiththevacuumbleedertomaintain
thelevelofnewuidinthemastercylinderduring
theclutchbleedingprocess.Followtheinstruc-
tionsincludedwiththekittopreventairfrombeing
introducedintothemastercylinderpistons,slave
cylinder,anduidlineswhilebleedingthehydraulic
clutchsystem.Additionalautomaticrellkitsare
availablefromMityvac.
1.Properlypositionthevehicleforsafeconvenient
accesstotheclutchbleedscrewlocatedonthe
slavecylinder.
2.Makesurethattheslavecylinderbleedscrewis
clean.
3.Connectclean,regulated(60psi(4.1bar)to150
psi(10.3bar))compressedairtothemalequick
disconnectnippleattachedtotheswivelair
inlet,locatedononeendofthevacuumbleeder
handle.
4.Connecttheappropriateendofthebleedtube
assemblytothefemalequickdisconnectcou-
plerlocatedontopofthevacuumbleeder.
Note: Consultthevehiclemanufacturer’sguide-
linesfortheproperclutchvacuumbleeding
procedure.
5.Sliptheuniversalbleedscrewadapterlocated
ontheoppositeendofthebleedtubeassembly,
overthenippleofthebleedscrew.
6.Operatethevacuumbleederbypushingthe
throttleforward(allowafewsecondsforvacuum
tobuildinthebleederreservoirbeforesuction
occurs),andwiththeappropriatewrench,loos-
en/openthebleedscrewslightly,untiluidis
visiblydrainingthroughthebleedhoseandinto
thereservoir.
Note:Duringthebleedingprocess,asbrake
uidisbeingvacuumedthroughthebleed
screw,airwillalsobesuckedintothebleeder
hosefromaroundthebleedscrewthreads.This
cangivethemisconceptionthatairisbleeding
fromthelines,howeveritisnormalanddoes
notindicateamalfunction.Topreventorreduce
thisintroductionofair,coatthebleedscrew
threadswithsilicongreasepriortobleeding.
7.Keepthebleedscrewopenuntilnewuidis
visiblyowingthroughthebleedhose.
8.Closethebleedscrewrmly,withoutovertight-
ening,priortoremovingthebleedscrewadapter
orshuttingoffthebleeder.
Note:Itisimportanttoensurethatthebleed
screwadapterremainsconnectedtothebleed
screw,andthebleederisstillpullingavacuum
whilethebleedscrewisclosed.Thisprevents
airfrombeingsuckedbackintotheslavecylin-
derfromaroundthebleedscrewthreads,before
thebleedscrewistightenedandsealed.
Note:Ifanautomaticrellersuchastheone
providedwiththisunit,isnotused,besureto
periodicallycheckthelevelandtopoffthebrake
uidinthemastercylinder.
