METERING BOX
The plastic wear gasket 5 on which the seed
disc rotates should be smooth and in good
condition. Under normal operating
conditions, it should be replaced only after
500 to 1000 ha (1250 to 2500 acres). The
metal brace 7 should be positioned with its
tab notched in the hole of the housing. The
outer edge of the plastic wear gasket is then
rotating , and is then held in position by cup
6 and 3 bolts. (Fig.33)
NOTE : Thoroughly clean the metering
box housing, before installing a new wear
gasket. Any residue left from previous
use will not allow the gasket to fit in the
proper position.
