GDU 10(XX) Display Screens
-CAUTION-
The GDU 10(XX) display screens use a lens
coated with a special anti- reflective coating
that is very sensitive to skin oils, waxes and
abrasive cleaners. CLEANERS CONTAINING
AMMONIA WILL HARM THE ANTIREFLEC-
TIVE COATING. It is very important to clean
the lens using a clean, lint - free cloth and an
eyeglass lens cleaner that is specified as safe
for anti- reflective coatings.
-NOTE-
Refer to M20V Illustrated Parts Catalog, Section
11-10-00, for material, leather, and carpet part
number and vendor information.
Normal household cleaning practices are recom-
mended for routine care. Frequently vacuum clean
seats, carpets, fabric, side panels and headliner to re-
move as much surface dirt and dust as possible.
Interior surfaces of the aircraft may be cleaned more
extensively using the following procedures. Avoid the
use of harsh cleaners that contain abrasives.
-WARNING-
Before using a cleaning material, obtain the
hazard code and incorporate necessary
protection.
1. Leather coverings for seats, seat headrests, seat
armrests and carpet binding may be cleaned with com-
mercially available leather cleaning products. Follow
the instructions on the product label, or:
A. Leather Care Instructions:
(1) Gently dust surface area regularly with a dry,
soft cloth. Due to the natural characteristics of leather,
scratches and marks may appear on the surface over
time. This appearance is the “character” of natural
leather.
(2) Use a clean, slightly damp cloth with clear
lukewarm water to clean the entire area. For example,
the entire seat cushion or arm rest. Start at the outside
of the spill and work your way towards the center.
Never Use: Saddle soaps, oils, abrasives, furniture pol-
ish, varnish or ammonia.
2. Neather Leather material is applied to interior
items including, glareshield, interior side panels, low-
er door panel, upper interior panels and headliner.
Interior Neather Leather is applied over fiberglass
formed panels. A brushable, heat- resistant adhesive
(3M 1300, St. Claire 4587 or Scotch Grip 1357)
bonds the material to the fiberglass sub- surface.
-CAUTION-
Fiberglass components are attacked and dete-
riorated by the following products: Ketone,
aliphatic esters, chlorinated hydrocarbons, and
slightly softened by aromatic hydrocarbons.
A. Neather Leather Cleaning Instructions:
Always pre- test cleaners, detergents and solvents in
an inconspicuous area for colorfastness.
(1) Spot clean with mild soap and water. For
stubborn stains, use mild solvent such as Fantas-
tikR-409R.
(2) Air dry or dry quickly with warm setting of a
hair dryer.
3. Acoustone speaker grille cloth is applied over
the speaker panel located in the headliner assembly.
A. Cleaning Instructions:
(1) Clean by vacuuming or light brushing.
-NOTE-
Do not use force when vacuuming or brushing as
damage to audio speakers mounted behind
speaker covering might result
4. Plexiglass windshield and cabin windows may
be cleaned per instructions provided in Chapter 56 of
this manual.
-CAUTION-
Never use benzene, carbon tetrachloride, ace-
tone, or gasoline for cleaning Plexiglass or
interior panels. Carefully follow the manufac-
turer’s instructions when using commercial
cleaning and finishing compounds.
