Plug hand held microphone jack into this plug
and place microphone in holder located on front
of lower center console both LH and RH side.
49. OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT SWITCHES (If

MAP LIGHT SWITCH/RHEOSTAT, MIKE
SWITCH, ELECTRIC TRIM SWITCH (if
installed), WX Clear (if installed) & OPTIONAL
AUTO- PILOT SWITCHES are located in the pi-
lot’s control wheel.
39-10-01 - FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS
-NOTE-
Exercise care not to bend connecting pins when
installing electronic components or connecting
data cables. Connecting pins are fragile and
easily bent or broken if forced.
1. Removal (Instrument Panel mounted components)
When removing and/or replacing any G1000 compo-
nent, always ensure that aircraft power is OFF. Unplug
any auxiliary power supplies.
A. Remove screws attaching glareshield and cover
plate and carefully lift glareshield to expose wire dis-
connects for glareshield lights. Disconnect wires and
lift glareshield off.
B. Refer to the Garmin Installation and Mainte-
nance Instructions for each Garmin component to be
removed/installed.
C. For Standby Attitude Module (SAM) removal:
Refer to the Mid Continent MD302 installation manual
and operating instructions.
1. Disconnect Pitot/Static plumbing and electrical
connection(s) from rear of SAM flight instrument.
2. Disconnect and remove any post lights.
3. Remove mounting screws securing SAM Mod-
ule to panel, slide it forward from panel.
D. For Standby Attitude Module removal: Refer to
the Mid Continent MD302 installation manual and oper-
ating instructions.
1. Place SAM Module into proper location on panel
and insert and secure mounting screws to hold instru-
ment to panel.
3. Connect post lights (if disconnected).
4. Connect all plumbing and/or electrical connec-
tions to SAM Module; perform pitot- static leak check
and operational check of performed maintenance as
required.
E. Position glareshield so electrical connections
can be made and secured.
F. Secure glareshield and cover plate with screws.
-NOTE-
If re-installing or replacing Magnetometer, use
non-ferrous hardware at installation bracket and
on wing access panel.
