Gear lever – Auto
The gear positions are displayed in front of the gear lever. When in the most forward position the transmission
is in the park position. Before moving the transmission out of the park position the engine must be running
(interlock) and the foot brake must be applied (shiftlock). The foot brake should be applied until you are ready
to move away, this will prevent creeping when stationary.
A lock prevents the gearlever inadvertently being moved to the R of P position. To move the lever into the P or R
position press the button on the front of the lever.
Notice
You cannot remove the ignition key if the gear lever is not in the park position.
Position 1 – Park Engage only when stationary
Position 2 – Reverse Engage only when stationary
Position 3 – Neutral
Position 4 – Drive
Position 5 – Sport/Manual
When in the drive position (position 4) the gearlever may be moved into the sport position (left). This position is
recommended for a performance driving style. When in sport mode pushing the gear lever forward or backward
will activate the manual mode, the gear change is now manually controlled by the driver, pushing the gearlever
forward will change down the gears and pulling the gearlever back will change up the gears. To return to
standard auto mode put the gear lever back to the auto position (right) and the vehicle will continue in auto
mode.
