Introduction
Thank you for your recent purchase of the Morphy Richards
Clarity Soup Maker. Please read this instruction booklet
carefully before you use your Soup Maker for the first time.
We’ve designed your Soup Maker so that it’s quick and easy to
make homemade soup to your own individual taste, with
minimum fuss. All you have to do is place the ingredients
needed for your favourite recipe inside your Soup Maker, then
it’s as simple as selecting either the smooth or chunky soup
setting, depending on your preference. A short wait while your
Soup Maker blends and gently cooks the ingredients for
perfectly delicious homemade soup.
The Soup Maker also has a pause function which allows you to
add seasoning, crème fraîche, herbs or cream at any stage
during the cooking process. Simply lift the Lid off your Soup
Maker - this disconnects the program cycle and stops the blade
rotation. Add seasoning and/or additional ingredients. Replace
the Lid and the timer program will restart with the time left to
the end of the program.

Quick Start Guide
How to clean your soup maker before use
Do not immerse any part of your soup maker in water or place in a
dishwasher.
Put a little warm water in the jug and add a few drops of washing
up liquid. Clean the inside of the jug with a dishcloth then rinse out
the soapy water and dry.
Holding the lid handle, carefully clean the blade and the motor
housing with a dishcloth that has been wrung out in hot soapy
water then wipe off any suds and dry.
Using your soup maker
For best results, choose one of the recipes from the instruction
book and follow the preparation and the method as it has been
written. Don’t be tempted to guess or change quantities or alter the
method.
Careful preparation by weighing of ingredients and correctly
measuring the amount of liquid is as important as the order
ingredients are placed in the jug.
Stock and/or milk should always be added to the jug last after your
other ingredients. Ensure that the Maximum level marked on the jug
side is not exceeded.
Do stir your soup ingredients before putting on the lid.
Some foods are not suitable for use in your soup maker. Items such
as shop bought readymade soup, baked beans in tomato sauce,
pasta in sauce, gravy, gravy granules and packet sauce mixes
should not be used in any of your own recipes as these will cause
the soup maker to overheat and food to burn on the jug base.
Do not heat milk in your soup maker or use it to reheat any food.
Most of our recipes use a small amount of potato which helps to
thicken soup.
Pasta and potatoes if used in excessive quantities can cause the
soup maker to overheat. Stick to the quantities in our recipes as a
guide.
It is essential that if a recipe uses flour to thicken soup it should be
added where specified in our recipe or made into a thin cream
consistency with a little stock or milk and added towards the end of
the program.
Be guided by the quantities of ingredients in our recipes when you
are ready to make your own soups.
Care and cleaning after use
It is essential that your soup maker is cleaned thoroughly after every
use for optimum performance.
The Clean Function will remove most soup residue. See the ‘Clean
it!’ section for more information. Additional cleaning as outlined
above will be required.
Clean the jug base after every use with a soft foam pad suitable for
non-stick pans with a little washing up liquid, rinse and dry. Make
sure all traces of food residue have been removed.
In the event that food adheres to the jug base the soup maker may
cut out. Pour out the soup, then fill the jug with hot soapy water and
leave to soak for 15 minutes. Use a coarse sponge cleaning pad to
remove the residue. Do not use a metal pad as this will scratch the
jug base.
