Learn the basics
Notications
At the top of the screen, icons on the left notify you about new messages or events. If you don’t know
what an icon means, swipe the status bar down for details.
When you install and open an app (see Add, update and personalize apps) you’ll be asked if you
want to allow the app to send notications.
Tip: Getting too many notications? Swipe up from the home screen and tap Settings >
Notications > App notications. Tap a switch to turn notications on/off.

Bubbles
Easily see and participate in conversations using notication bubbles that oat on top of the display.
Find it: Swipe up from the home screen and tap Settings > Notications > Bubbles, then tap the
switch to turn it on.
