You can continue to communicate when your repeater is not
operating, or when your radio is out of the repeater’s range but
within talking range of other radios. This is called “talkaround”.

Press the programmed 5HSHDWHU7DONDURXQG button to toggle
between talkaround and repeater modes.

Follow the procedure below.
g to access the menu.
f or h to Utilities and press g to select.
f or h to Radio Settings and press g to select.
f or h to Talkaround and press g to select.
Press g to enable Talkaround. The display shows 9
beside Enabled.

g to disable Talkaround. The 9 disappears from
beside Enabled.
The screen automatically returns to the previous menu.
The Talkaround setting is retained even after powering down.

Use the Permanent Monitor feature to continuously monitor a
selected channel for activity.

Linked Capacity Plus.

Press the programmed 3HUPDQHQW0RQLWRU button.
Radio sounds an alert tone, the yellow LED lights up, and
the display shows Permanent Monitor On. The monitor
icon appears on the status bar.
Press the programmed 3HUPDQHQW0RQLWRU button to exit
Permanent Monitor mode.
Radio sounds an alert tone, the yellow LED turns off, and
display shows Permanent Monitor Off.
