Verify fuel and chain oil levels before starting the chainsaw.
Engage the chain brake by pushing the guard forward away from the front handle.
Set the ignition switch to the "I" (on) position.
Pull out the choke knob to prepare for starting.
Press the primer button until fuel is visible in the line.
Pull starter cord 4/5 times until the engine fires but does not start.
When engine fires, cancel choke by pressing throttle lever and interlock.
Pull the starter cord again until the engine starts.
Disengage the chain brake by pulling it back towards the handle.
Release throttle trigger and interlock lever, let engine idle for a few seconds.

Move the ignition switch to the "0" position to stop the engine.
Ensure the guard/chain brake is disengaged by pulling it back.
Unscrew the clutch cover nuts and remove the cover.
Remove and discard the transport packing spacer before fitting the guidebar.
Fit the guidebar slot over the clutch cover bolts and push back.
Ensure chain faces correct way and thread it around the drive sprocket.
Ensure drive links fit correctly into the guidebar sprocket nose.
Check chain tension adjuster pin alignment; adjust screw if necessary.
Refit clutch cover, finger-tighten nuts, and adjust chain tension.
Check chain tension by lifting it approximately 2-4mm away from the guidebar.
Raise bar, tighten guard nuts securely, and fully tighten clutch cover nuts.
