b) Fit the head shaft with the cylindrical bushing
(A), grooved ring nut (B), metal disk (C), ring
nut (D), fixed housing (E) and finally the
hexagonal nut (F) tightening it in an anti-
clockwise direction.
c) In order to ensure tight fastening, the shaft
must be fixed and prevented from rotating: fit
the steel rod (G) (supplied) in the hole on the
side of the grooved ring nut (B), turn the tool
slowly until the rod enters the hole on the
side of the head, thus blocking the tool rota-
tion. Tighten the nut and remove the rod from
the hole.
ATTENTION
If the brush cutter bears the warning symbol on
page 15, then circular saw blades must not be
used. Using circular saw blades with brush cutters
bearing this symbol puts the operator at risk of very
serious injury and even death.
LINE HEAD (Fig. 6)
a) Fit the head shaft with the cylindrical bushing
(A) and the grooved ring nut (B), then fasten
the line head (C) in an anticlockwise direction
(the thread is left-handed).
b) In order to ensure tight fastening, the shaft
must be fixed and prevented from rotating: fit
the steel rod (G) (supplied) in the hole on the
side of the grooved ring nut (B), turn the tool
slowly until the rod enters the hole on the
side of the head, thus locking the tool rota-
tion. Tighten and block the tool with the plas-
tic key supplied.
STRAP (Fig. 7)
The brush cutter is supplied with a single strap.
Pass the strap over the left shoulder so that it runs
from top left to bottom right. Then fasten the clip to
the special support hook on the drive pipe of the
brush cutter.
In order to work more efficiently and safely, adjust
the strap according to your height and build.
PREPARATION FOR USE
In order to use the brush cutter, clothes have to be
worn that protect against objects thrown up by the
tool (e.g. stones). It is necessary to wear safety
shoes with a slip-proof sole, gloves, safety gog-
gles (the visor is on its own does not protect the
eyes sufficiently), clothes that are not baggy. Do
not wear loose-fitting clothes, scarves, ties, jewel-
lery or other dangling objects that could get caught
on branches. Long hair must be tied up and cove-
red.
Ear protection must also be worn, e.g. earmuffs.
A safety helmet must be worn while pruning,
chopping down trees, brush cutting or any other
work in places where falling objects are a danger.
WARNING
Read the Safety measures chapter of this
manual very carefully.
MACHINE INSPECTION
Check that every screw is tightly fastened and that
the mechanical parts are sufficiently lubricated.
Check the blade, ensure it is sharp and that it is not
damaged in any way. Check that the blade disk
guard is in place. Check that the air filter is clean.
Dirty air filters may jeopardise performance.
FUEL AND LUBRICANT
FUEL
Use unleaded petrol mixed with specific oil for 2-
stroke air-cooled motors. For the best results use
petrol and PROF 2 T oil with a ratio of 40:1.
Quantities of oil are specified in the Fuel-Oil
Mixture Table.
ATTENTION:
NEVER use only petrol in your machine. This
would cause permanent damage to the motor
and invalidate the Warranty for this product.
NEVER use mixture that is over 60 days old.
ATTENTION:
PROF 2T oil for two-stroke air-cooled motors,
mixed with a petrol-oil ratio of 40:1, is the best
for this machine. Do not use oils with recom-
mended mixing ratios of 100:1. Insufficient
lubrication causes damage to the engine and
invalidates the engine warranty.
FUEL MIXING
Place the oil in a container suitable for holding
petrol and oil, then add the petrol. Shake the con-
tainer to mix thoroughly.
ATTENTION:
Lack of lubrication invalidates the warranty.
Petrol and oil must be mixed at 40:1.
