Overview

The Duex Float is a portable monitor designed to extend your display capabilities, offering versatility for various use cases, from professional work to entertainment. It is equipped with multiple connection options and display modes to suit different devices and user preferences.

For basic connectivity, the Duex Float can be used with a single USB-C to C cable, provided your laptop's USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode (DP ALT mode). This setup allows for a streamlined connection, transmitting both video and power through a single cable. If your laptop's USB-C port does not support DP ALT mode, you can still connect the Duex Float using a USB-C to C cable for power and an HDMI cable for video. This dual-cable approach ensures compatibility with a wider range of laptops. For older laptops or those with limited USB-C ports, the Duex Float also supports a connection using a USB-C to C cable, a Type-A adapter, and an HDMI cable, catering to devices that primarily feature USB-A and HDMI ports.

The Duex Float offers several positioning guides to enhance its usability. In attachment mode, which is optional, the monitor can be mounted to your laptop. This mode requires referring to an attachment guide and mounting template for proper installation. Once attached, the monitor can be deployed by extending its kickstand and rotating it. For presentation mode, the monitor can be rotated 180 degrees to face the laptop monitor, allowing for easy sharing of content with others. Alternatively, the monitor can be rotated 180 degrees and connected to a PC to be used in a standalone presentation setup. The Duex Float also supports Nintendo Switch and Android devices. To use it with these devices, you first connect the original power cable of your Switch or Android device to the Duex Float, and then connect your Switch or Android device to the Duex Float. This allows you to enjoy games or media on a larger screen.

The device offers various display settings to optimize your viewing experience. When using the Duex Float in duplicate mode for Windows, you can right-click on your desktop, select "Display settings," and then choose "Duplicate these displays" from the "Multiple displays" dropdown menu. If you have a duplicate screen and want to change it to extend mode, you can select "Extend these displays" from the same menu. For extending the display, you can right-click on your desktop, select "Display settings," and then choose "Extend these displays" from the "Multiple displays" dropdown menu. You can also adjust the orientation of the extended display by selecting the monitor and choosing "Landscape" or "Portrait" from the "Orientation" dropdown. To adjust content size for Windows, you can increase or decrease the size of text, apps, and other items by selecting a percentage from the "Change the size of text, apps, and other items" dropdown in the "Display settings."

For macOS users, the Duex Float also provides similar display settings. To duplicate the monitor, go to "System Preferences," then "Displays," and select "Mirror Displays." To extend the display, go to "System Preferences," then "Displays," and deselect "Mirror Displays." You can arrange the layout of your displays by dragging and dropping them into the desired positions. To rotate the monitor, go to "System Preferences," then "Displays," and select "Rotation" from the "Display" tab, choosing the desired degree of rotation. To adjust the content size for macOS, go to "System Preferences," then "Displays," and select "Scaled" to choose a resolution that fits your needs.

Safety and handling are crucial for maintaining the device's longevity and performance. Before using the Duex Float, users should read the manual carefully. If the product appears damaged, do not try to open or repair it yourself. Contact customer support for assistance. The Duex Float should be used in appropriate conditions, avoiding exposure to extreme heat, cold, humidity, or dust. Always place the Duex Float on a stable surface and keep it away from liquids. When cleaning the device, use a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh chemicals. Ensure proper ventilation around the monitor to prevent overheating. When connecting cables, use only the cables provided or approved by the manufacturer. Avoid bending or twisting cables excessively. The Duex Float is designed to be durable, but it is not indestructible. Avoid dropping or subjecting it to strong impacts. When transporting the device, use appropriate protective packaging to prevent damage.

The Duex Float contains small parts that could pose a choking hazard to children. Keep the device and its accessories out of reach of children. If you experience eye strain or discomfort while using the monitor, take regular breaks. If the problem persists, consult a physician. The device emits low-level electromagnetic fields, but prolonged exposure should be avoided. The Duex Float complies with FCC rules, designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If the equipment causes harmful interference to radio or television reception, users are encouraged to try to correct the interference by reorienting or relocating the receiving antenna, increasing the separation between the equipment and receiver, connecting the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected, or consulting the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

For maintenance, if the product requires service within the warranty period, contact customer support. The warranty service will not be extended to any losses or damages caused by accident, misuse, abuse, modification, alteration by non-authorized third parties, improper installation, or improper maintenance.
