selector dial (3). There is a safety feature which prevents starng the coee grinder without the
canister lid (6) and/or without the canister (9) in the receptacle (11).
CAUTION! Empty the ground coee canister before grinding more coee.
6. When done grinding coee, unplug the coee grinder from the mains and remove the ground
coee from the canister (9) once it is removed from the receptacle (11). Clean the coee grinder.
The power cord can be kept in the storage recess (14).
7. The coee grinder can always be stopped by operang the power switch (2).
8. Do not keep the coee grinder running for more than 72 seconds without interrupon. If the
coee grinder runs for the maximum permied me, it requires 10 minutes to cool down before
grinding coee again.
9. Always try to grind a volume of coee you can consume directly; if le for some me, ground
coee will quickly lose its aroma. Keep coee in a dark, cool and dry place, in a sealed container.
10. Test what is the best ground grain size for each coee variety in pracce. The sheer number of
commercially available coee variees prevents any denion of exact ground grain sizes.
11. If the querns jam while processing, stop the coee grinder, select a roughern grain size and start
grinding again.
CAUTION! Do not use the appliance for grinding any oily food products, e.g. nuts. Do not use the
appliance for grinding any hard products, e.g. rice.
12. Clean the coee grinder aer every use. If le inside appliance, the ground coee can form scky
lumps and contaminate the next ground batch.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
CAUTION! Unplug the appliance from the mains before cleaning and maintenance. Never
immerse the appliance in water.
1. Clean the housing of the coee grinder with a so cloth moistened with clean water. Do not
clean with abrasive products, solvents or other chemicals which might permanently damage the
appliance.
2. Clean the ground coee canister (9) and the lids (10), (6) with lukewarm water and a mild deter
-
gent; next, rinse clean with water and leave to dry completely. Dishwashers are not recommended
for cleaning the appliance parts.
3. Remove the coee bean canister lid and the upper quern (8). Grasp the quern and gently rotate it
clockwise to release. Li the quern out of the appliance. Clean the removed upper quern (8) with
the brush (12) included. The lower quern (7) is permanently aached inside the coee grinder.
Clean it with the brush (12) included. With the querns clean, reinstall the upper quern and secure
it by rotang counter-clockwise. Remove the upper quern only with the selector dial (4) at FINE;
reinstall the upper quern only with the selector dial (4) at COARSE.
4. Clean the coee bean canister (5) interior with a so cloth moistened with clean water, once the
upper quern has been removed.
5. Clean the port under the selector dial (3) which admits the ground coee to the lower canister
with a dry cloth or the brush (12).
6. With all parts clean and dry, reassemble the coee grinder and keep it in a dry and clean place.
