If your Mr. Heater Heater keeps shutting off, here's what you can check: * A blocked pilot can cause this, so clean the pilot. * Ensure a minimum fresh air opening of 9 square inches (e.g., a 3” x 3” opening). * If the heater was bumped, the tip-over switch may have been activated; try re-lighting it. * A defective regulator could be the issue; consider replacing it. * Internal contamination might be present; in this case, replace the control valve and regulator.

      Kathy FitzgeraldAug 5, 2025
If the pilot flame on your Mr. Heater Heater doesn't stay lit when you release the knob, consider these possibilities: * The control knob might not be fully depressed in the “PILOT” position or held long enough to purge air from the lines. Ensure you check the control knob. * The pilot flame may not be surrounding the thermocouple adequately. If so, clean the pilot. * The pilot assembly could be defective and require replacement. * Disconnected tip switch wires can also cause this issue; make sure they are connected.
