30-inch Mulch Kit — 19A30013OEM
Installing the Mulch Plug
1. Install the mulch plug into the deck discharge opening on
the deck. The studs on the deck surface will fit through the
holes on the upper portion of the mulch plug. The small
tab on the deck lip area will fit through the square cutout
on the lower portion of the mulch plug. See Figure 1-2.
Note: Make certain that the upper-rear portion of mulch
plug is depressing the safety switch located on the deck
surface. The engine will not start without the mulch plug
properly in place.

2. Secure the mulch plug by tightening the wing knobs
removed earlier.
Model 19A30013OEM mulch kit is designed for use with select
30-inch single-blade cutting decks. Refer to your riding mower’s
Operator’s Manual to assure compatibility.
Carton Contents
Before beginning installation, remove all parts from the carton
to make sure everything is present. Carton contents are listed
below. Part numbers are shown in parentheses.
• One 30” Deck Mulch Plug (731-09312)
Removing the Discharge Chute
1. Remove the wing knobs that secure the discharge chute in
place. See Figure 1-1.
2. Remove the discharge chute from the deck discharge
opening by lifting it off the deck.

Removing the Discharge Chute

Remove Securing Wing Knobs

Remove the wing knobs that secure the discharge chute in place.

Lift Discharge Chute

Remove the discharge chute from the deck by lifting it off the opening.

Installing the Mulch Plug

Insert Mulch Plug

Install plug into deck opening, aligning studs through holes and tab into cutout.

Ensure Safety Switch Engagement

Verify upper-rear portion depresses safety switch; engine won't start otherwise.

Secure Mulch Plug

Secure the mulch plug by tightening the previously removed wing knobs.
