Wedge Assembly Adjustment
Asnormalwearoccursandthereisexcessive"play"
betweenthewedgeandbeam,adjusttheboltsonthe
sideof thewedgeassemblytoeliminateexcessspace
betweenthewedgeandthebeam.
1. Loosenthejam nutson thetwoadjustmentboltson
thesideofthewedge.SeeFigure5-1.
2. Turntheadjustmentboltsin untilsnugandthenback
themoffslowly(approximately1.5turns)untilthe
wedgeassemblywillslideonthebeam.
3. Re-tightenthejamnutssecurelyagainsttheside
ofthewedgeto securetheadjustmentboltsin this
position.
Gib Adjustment
Periodicallyremoveand replacethe"gibs"(spacers)
betweenthewedgeassemblyandthebackplate.
NOTE:Thegibsmayberotatedand/orturnedoverfor
evenwear.
1. Loosenthelocknutsundereachbackplateand slide
thegibsout.See Figure5-1.
2. Turnor replacethegibs.
3. Reassemblethebackplateandsecurewiththelock
nuts.
4. Readjusttheboltson thesideofthewedgeassembly.
