Why my MTD 520 engine fails to start?

If your MTD Lawn Mower engine won't start, several factors could be at play. First, ensure the fuel tank isn't empty and that the fuel is fresh, not stale. If equipped, try pushing the primer bulb two or three times. Also, check that the spark plug wire is securely connected to the spark plug. A dirty air cleaner or a fouled spark plug could also be the culprit, so refer to the Engine Operator’s Manual for instructions. If the engine is flooded, consult the Engine Operator’s Manual.
