      Michael LambertJul 30, 2025
If your MTD Lawn Mower engine cranks but doesn't start, several factors could be at play. Make sure the throttle or choke is in the correct starting position by consulting your operator's manual. Check if the gasoline tank is empty and fill it if needed. Inspect the fuel line or in-line fuel filter for any blockages and clean them if necessary. Ensure the spark plug lead is securely connected. If the spark plug is faulty and doesn't fire at the electrode, replace it. If the air cleaner is dirty, refer to the engine manual packed with your unit for cleaning instructions.
