Setting the Cutting Height
1. Selecttheheightpositionof the cuttingdeckby
placingthe decklift leverinany of the sixdifferent
cuttingheightnotchesonthe rightsideofthefender.
2. Adjustthe deckwheels,if equipped,so thattheyare
between1A-inchandY2-inchabovethegroundwhen
thetractoris ona smooth,flatsurfacesuchas a
driveway.

Stopping the Engine
NOTE:Referto the TRACTORSET-UPon page8 of
thismanualfor GasolineandOil fill-upinstructions.
1. Insertthe tractorkeyinto theignitionswitch.
2. PlacethePTO(BladeEngage)leverinthedisen-
gaged(OFF)position.
3. Engagethetractor'sparkingbrake.
4. Activatethe chokecontrol.
5. Turnthe ignitionkeyclockwisetotheSTARTposi-
tion.Aftertheenginestarts,releasethe key.Itwill
returnto theONposition.
iMPORTANT:Do NOTholdthe keyin theSTART
positionforlongerthanten secondsata time. Doingso
maycausedamageto yourengine'selectricstarter.
6. Aftertheenginestarts,deactivatethechokecontrol
andplacethe throttlecontrolin theFASTposition.

1. If the bladesare engaged,placethe PTO(Blade
Engage)leverinthe disengaged(OFF)position.
2. Turntheignitionkeycounterclockwiseto the STOP
position.
3. Removethe keyfromthe ignitionswitchto prevent
unintendedstarting.
NOTE:Do NOTleavethechokecontrolonwhileoperat-
ingthetractor.Doingso will resultina "rich"fuelmixture
andcausetheenginetorun poorly.
