What to do if my NAD Turntable sound is distorted?

  If the sound from your turntable is distorted or inconsistent, begin by ensuring the turntable is connected to the correct input on the amplifier and that the MM/MC switch is properly set. Inspect the needle or cantilever for damage and replace if necessary. Verify that the correct RPM is set. Also, check if the drive belt is overstretched or dirty, and replace or clean it. Finally, lubricate or clean the platter bearing if it's dirty, damaged, or needs lubrication.

  A strong hum on the phono input typically indicates a grounding issue. Ensure a proper ground connection is established from the cartridge, arm, or arm cable to the amplifier to eliminate any ground loops.
