PROCEDURE FOR HANDHELD PEN FLUOROMETER
Initial Setup Procedure
1. Press “SELECT” button on fluorometer. “PF” will blink on screen.
2. Press “READ/ENT”. Screen will show 100.0.
3. Press “SELECT” button twice and the first 0 will change to 1 and then 2.
Screen will show 200.0. This will set “PF” to 200.
4. Press “READ/ENT” 4-5 times till screen shows trA. Screen should show
“000.0”. Press “READ/ENT” 7-8 times till screen goes blank. trA is now set
to 0.
5. Pen fluorometer is now ready for calibration/testing.
Calibration Procedure
1. Make sure clear rubber plug is inserted in bottom of pen fluorometer, hold
pen horizontally.
2. Rinse and dump the well three times with Distilled Water.
3. After dumping the third rinse, fill the well with Distilled Water.
4. Press the “CAL” button.
5. The screen will read “2-Pt CAL.” After a few seconds, the screen will
change and read “dIP H2O.”
6. Press “READ/ENT”.
7. Screen will blink “MEAS” several times (for about 10-20 seconds) and then
will read “dIP Std”.
