Do you have a question about the NARDI COMPRESSORI SUPER EXTREME and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The NARDI SUPER EXTREME is an oil-less air compressor designed for various applications, offering both portability and robust performance. It is available in two main configurations: the SUPER EXTREME T18 with an 18-liter portable tank and the SUPER EXTREME 1 20L with a 20-liter tank. Both models feature a double-stage oil-less compressor with a patented system, ensuring clean air output without the need for oil maintenance.

Function Description:

The compressor's primary function is to generate compressed air for a wide range of tasks. It is equipped with two air flow adjusters (ref. 6 and 10 in Fig. A) that allow the operator to control the working pressure. These pressures are monitored by manometers (ref. 4 and 8 in Fig. A). The black pressure regulator adjusts the maximum pressure up to 10 bar (145 psi), while the red pressure regulator handles pressures from 0 to 30 bar (435 psi). This dual-pressure capability makes it versatile for different tools and applications requiring varying pressure levels. The compressor is started and stopped via an ON-OFF switch (ref. 2 in Fig. A) and features an automatic pressure switch (ref. 3 in Fig. A) that controls the electric motor's operation. A solenoid valve (ref. 11 in Fig. A) handles the discharge pressure of the pump unit upon power off.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Compressor Type: Oil-less, double-stage with patented system.
  • Tank Capacity:
    • SUPER EXTREME T18: 18 Liters (4.76 Gal)
    • SUPER EXTREME 1 20L: 20 Liters (5.3 Gal)
  • Air Intake: 130 L/min.
  • Max Pressure:
    • Low Pressure: 10 Bar (145 Psi)
    • High Pressure: 30 Bar (435 Psi)
  • Electric Power: 2.20 Hp/Cv (1.60 Kw)
  • Electric Input: 230/50 - 230/60 V/Hz
  • Sound Pressure Level: Below 80 dB (A).
  • Working Temperature: +5 to +50 °C.
  • Safety Features: Equipped with a thermal circuit breaker to protect the electric motor from overheating, causing sudden stops or intermittent operation. It also includes a safety valve (ref. 3 in Fig. A) for pressure control.

Usage Features:

Before starting, ensure the compressor has not been damaged during transport. To facilitate motor start, ensure the air hose is not under pressure and the air outlet cock is open. The compressor is designed for ease of use with clearly marked pressure regulators and manometers.

  • Pressure Adjustment: The black regulator (ref. 6 in Fig. A) controls pressure up to 10 bar, while the red regulator (ref. 10 in Fig. A) controls pressure from 0 to 30 bar.
  • Accessory Connection: Connect accessories to the air outlet cocks (ref. 7 or 9 in Fig. A). It is crucial to use only accessories suitable for the chosen pressure (e.g., 30 Bar accessories for 30 Bar pressure output) to avoid serious risks.
  • Optimal Air Flow: By alternately adjusting both the regulator and the cock, an optimal pressure air ratio can be achieved for specific tasks.
  • Stopping the Machine: While the pressure switch automatically manages motor start/stop, the compressor can be manually stopped using the general red switch (ref. 2 in Fig. A). It is important to always turn off the compressor using this switch before unplugging it from the power supply.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is essential for the longevity and efficient operation of the compressor.

  • Filter Cleaning: The suction filter (ref. 1 in Fig. A) should be periodically unscrewed and cleaned using an air jet directed from the center outwards. This prevents dust and debris from entering the compressor, maintaining air quality and efficiency.
  • Condensate Discharge: Due to air compression and expansion, humidity condenses inside the tank. It is necessary to periodically discharge this condensate by unscrewing the drain plug (ref. 5 in Fig. A) and slightly tilting the tank. This prevents corrosion and maintains tank integrity.
  • Motor Protection: The electric motor is protected by a thermal circuit breaker. If the motor overheats, it will automatically shut down or operate intermittently. In such cases, verify that the network voltage matches the label, the pressure switch calibration pressure is within limits, and there are no unusual noises or vibrations during operation.
  • Recycling: The compressor should not be disposed of as general waste. It must be collected and recycled as per the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive 2002/96/EC.

Safety Precautions:

  • Move the compressor using appropriate means to avoid excessive physical strain.
  • Wear hearing protection (e.g., headphones) during prolonged use, despite the sound pressure being below 80 dB (A).
  • Do not move the compressor while it is in operation to avoid exposure to vibrations that can cause health risks to limbs.
  • Do not attempt electrical or mechanical repairs yourself; contact your supplier immediately if the machine is not working properly.
  • Use the compressor in well-ventilated areas.
  • Do not direct compressed air towards flames, heat sources, people, or animals.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially in hot climates, to prevent overheating of plastic parts.
  • Keep children and animals away from the operating area.
  • Do not use the compressor in humid or dusty environments.
  • Do not tamper with safety devices or regulations.
