The N 50 Induction Hob with Integrated Ventilation System, 80 cm, T48CB1AX2, offers a seamless cooking experience by combining an induction hob with a powerful downdraft extractor, ensuring a clear view while cooking. Its frameless design provides a sleek, modern aesthetic that integrates beautifully into any kitchen.
This appliance features four cooking zones, providing ample space for multiple pots or pans. The front left and front right zones are 210 mm in diameter with a maximum power of 3.7 KW, while the rear left and rear right zones are 180 mm with a maximum power of 3.1 KW. All zones are equipped with a Power Boost function, allowing for faster heating by delivering 50% more energy than the highest standard level, perfect for quickly boiling water.
The integrated ventilation downdraft system is a high-performance extractor that operates with three electronically controlled fan power levels, plus one Boost/Intensive fan power level, all managed via the intuitive Touch Control user interface. This system is suitable for both ducted and recirculated extraction configurations, with specific installation accessories required for each. An automatic switch-on feature activates the ventilation system when a cooking zone is in use. After cooking, an automatic delayed shut-off function continues to operate for a set period (12 minutes in ducted extraction, 30 minutes in recirculated extraction) to eliminate residual odors, though this can be manually overridden. The system boasts a high-performance, low-noise motor with energy-efficient BLDC-technology, ensuring high extraction rates at very low noise levels. The interior is psycho-acoustically and aerodynamically optimized, with an enclosed, hidden motor that is highly pressure-drop resistant, even with longer and more complex ducting systems.
The hob is controlled via Touch Control, utilizing imprinted +/- touch buttons for power adjustments. It offers variable 17-stage power settings for each zone, allowing for precise heat adaptation with 9 main levels and 8 intermediate levels. Each zone includes an LED timer with an automatic shut-off function, which turns off the cooking zone at the end of the set time (e.g., for boiled eggs). An acoustic signal sounds when the timer concludes, useful for tasks like cooking pasta.
The QuickStart function enhances convenience by automatically selecting the cooking zone with cookware when the hob is switched on (if cookware is placed on a zone while the hob is off). The ReStart function provides a safety net, restoring all previous settings within 4 seconds if the hob is unintentionally switched off. For quick zone deactivation, a Quick-Off function allows a cooking zone to be switched off with one longer touch.
Safety features include 2-stage residual heat indicators, which show whether cooking zones are still hot or warm. A control panel lock prevents unintended activation of the hob, while a control panel suspension feature allows users to wipe over-boiled liquids without accidentally changing settings by blocking all touch buttons for 30 seconds. A main switch allows all cooking zones to be switched off with a single touch. Additionally, a safety cut-out facility automatically stops heating after a preset time if the hob is not used, a feature that can be customized.
The integrated ventilation system is designed for easy maintenance. It features an easy-to-detach and easy-to-clean grease filter and liquid collector unit. The unit can be conveniently removed with one hand via a floating glass ceramics handle. It includes large-scale, high-performance stainless-steel grease filters with 12 filtration layers and a black top layer for enhanced aesthetic integration. These filters boast a grease filtration efficiency of 94%. All parts of the unit are easy to clean, fully dishwasher safe, and heat resistant.
The upper liquid collector unit has a 200ml capacity for standard accidental spillages or cooking condensate, supported by a powerful drainage system for larger spills. A liquid safety collector provides an additional 700ml capacity for more severe accidental situations. This collector is also dishwasher safe, easily accessible, and detachable from below, bringing the overall capturing capacity to 900ml (200ml + 700ml). The system also features a watertight motor system.
For recirculation configurations, the appliance includes two sets of directly integrated, high-performance cleanAir odor filters. These filters are optimized for reducing complex odor molecules, such as those from fish. They offer a large-scale filter surface with high odor reduction capabilities and have a lifetime of 360 hours of cooking (non-regenerative). These low-noise filters are designed with optimized psycho-acoustics and are easy to access and remove from above. Saturation indications for the cleanAir odor filter are provided via the user interface notification and the Home Connect app, with a convenient replenishment re-order option available for the cleanAir filter set.
