Setting up
1 Open the WorldCommunicator by swinging
down the Modem Unit.

Unfold the antenna.
Use storm locks if necessary.
3 Press and
hold for
2 secs.
4 PIN code:
use multi-
buttons as indicated (default code: 1 2 3 4).
5 Check antenna cable connections.
6 The four satellites are positioned
stationary above equator, see map in
"Getting Started" or on CD. To find the
correct vertical angle to the satellite,
try with 60°, 30° or 0° as indicated.
7 Aim the antenna
towards the esti-
mated position of
the satellite with
free line of sight,
or make a slow scan
across the hemi-
sphere. If necessary, use the compass.

The shaded signal strength bar
appearing in the display increases
in length when closing in on the
satellite.
The signal strength
should be at least 520 for
64 kbps communication.
8 Press to accept
the Ocean Region satellite.
If no spot beam is found from the current
satellite, try another Ocean Region.
