Turn on Nest Cam IQ indoors

Set up camera indoors by plugging power cable into camera base and then into an indoor outlet near Wi-Fi router. Camera light ring turns blue.

Connect it to the app

Download the Nest app, create an account or log in, and follow app instructions to add your camera and connect it to your Wi-Fi network.

Test your cameras video streaming outside

Plan the cable path

Choose a good spot.

Consider the view

Nest Cam IQ has a 130-degree field of view and articulating hinge for flexible mounting. Position it to cover large areas of your property.

Install it just above head height

Mount the camera 7 to 10 feet above the ground, tilted downward. This height ensures people's faces are visible for clear communication.

Look for a nearby indoor outlet

Keep it in range of your router

Mount your camera.

Install the wall plate

Use a 3/32" drill bit and template for pilot holes. Apply caulk around the wall plate edge, leaving a small opening at the bottom for water drainage.

Attach the camera

Plug the power cable into the camera base. Push the camera base into the wall plate until it clicks. Check video feed and adjust angle via the Nest app.
