Congratulations on your purchase of the NEUMI BS5 bookshelf speakers! We have
designed these speakers to deliver an engaging listening experience for both music
and movies. Please read these instructions to get the best quality sound out of your
new speakers!
Setup and Connections
Before these speakers can be used, be sure that you have the following:

Amplifier - The BS5 are passive speakers that require an amplifier or home theater receiver
to produce sound. They cannot be directly connected to a computer, music player, or phone
to play sound.
•
Speaker wire - Speaker wire is needed to connect the BS5 speakers to an amplifier. Since
the length of speaker wire needed varies greatly depending on each setup, speaker wire is
not included in order to reduce waste. We keep the BS5 affordable so that you can
purchase speaker wires in the necessary length and thickness that best fit your needs.
The following diagram illustrates the connection between the speakers and the amplifier. Please be
extra careful about the polarity of the connection, going from the positive (+) red connector on the
amplifier output to the red connector on the BS5 speaker, and similarly for the negative (-) black
connectors.
Note: A reversed connection polarity will cause the speakers to lack bass and sound thin. If
something doesn’t sound right, check the speaker connection polarity.
