REASSEMBLY
Reassemble the starter in the reverse order of
disassembly. Observe the following cautions and
procedures.
1. Lubricate the following components with a light
coating of White Lithium Grease (Part Number
RL 666).
Idler gear retainer and rollers.
Overrunning clutch.
Steel ball and return spring.
Armature bearings.
Reduction gears.

2. Install the return spring into the electric solenoid
and the steel ball into the center of the
overrunning clutch. The ball should be held in
place by the coating of grease.

3. Install the idler gear bearing rollers and retainer.
