FW Update Instructions

The following upgrade instructions are in relation to updating the firmware by copying an update file to the SD Card via the supplied USB cable.
Our Dash Cams can also be updated via MyNextbase Player® (NBDVR222 and above).
Download the latest version of firmware
for the NBDVR222G via the Support &
Downloads page for your Dash Cam.

PC as a file called ‘FW222GA. This will usually
be located within the downloads folder on
your computer.

Download and Locate Firmware File

Download the latest firmware from the support page and locate the .bin file on your PC.

Copy Firmware and Format SD Card

Copy the firmware file from your PC and format the dash cam's SD card via its setup menu.

Connect Dash Cam and Select Update

Plug the dash cam into the PC using the USB cable and select the 'Firmware Update' option.

Transfer Firmware to SD Card

Access the dash cam storage device and paste the firmware file onto the SD card.

Verify File, Disconnect, and Reconnect

Ensure the firmware file is not renamed, unplug the dash cam, then reconnect to start the update.

Verify Firmware Installation

After the dash cam restarts, check the 'System Info' menu for the updated firmware version.
