iControl DC
Emergency Power Shutdown, EMERG POWER SHUTDOWN. See Emergency Power Activated.
Description: This event is logged when emergency power is initially activated or if communication with the
emergency power supervisor has been lost while on emergency power.
Car Reaction: Emergency stop. Car removed from service.
Tro ubleshooting:
1. Related inputs:
EPI: Active level field adjustable.
Emergency Stop Input Activated, EMERGENCY STOP INPUT
Description: The events are logged and related car status messages displayed on the OBD and iView to
reflect the status of the Emergency Stop Input.
Car Reaction: When the Emergency Stop Input is activated, the car makes an emergency stop and cancels
all calls. This input has priority over all modes of operation including Fire Service.
Troubleshooting: Check the status of the Emergency Stop Input.
Emergency Stop Input Deactivated see Emergency Stop Input Activated.
ESTOP due to disabled direction of travel
Description: The car has performed an emergency stop because the current travel direction has been disal-
lowed due to flood operation becoming active, disallowing the destination floor.
Car Reaction: After stopping, the car will correct to a floor above the flood zone.
ETA Mode Activated
Description: The Estimated Time of Arrival dispatching engine is now active.
Event Log Cleared
Description: Indicates that all of the events previously logged in the event log were removed using the “Clear
all” button (iView Controller > View > Diagnostics > Event Log tab).
Excessive Brake Feedback Fault, EXCESS BRAKE FDBK FLT
Description: After each brake activity, controller checks brake current is bleeding off properly. (After 1 sec-
ond, brake voltage should be at or below 85% of voltage applied by last command.) This fault is issued if
brake voltage remains too high when checked by the controller.
Car Reaction: Emergency stop: Motor contactor and brake contactor immediately dropped.
Tro ubleshooting:
1. At factory, RB (brake resistor circuit value) set 3 to 5 times brake coil resistance. Reduce RB to allow cur-
rent to bleed off more quickly. (Do not reduce RB below 3 times brake coil resistance.) Please refer to
“Verifying Brake Current Resistance” on page 2-11.
2. On the iView Brake screen, Timers tab, reduce Voltage Decay Time (minimum, 0.0 seconds).
3. Check Brake Voltage Feedback test point on iView Oscilloscope screen.
4. Check iField Brake Module connections.
5. Check brake and brake connections.
6. If this fault persists, you may have a defective brake module or iBox Safety board.
Excessive Faults Shutdown, EXCESSIVE FAULTS
Description: Generated if car is already at a floor or after it has reached a floor when Excessive Faults
Warning detected. Also generated when there are another five faults that resulted in an emergency, con-
trolled or ASAP stop as the car was trying to reach a floor after an Excessive Faults Warning fault (see
also Excessive Faults Warning).
Car Reaction: Emergency stop: Motor and brake contactor immediately dropped. Doors cycle if at a floor.
Latching fault. Clear by pressing iBox Fault Reset button, toggling Inspection or cycling power to controller.
Tro ubleshooting:
1. Check Event Log for drive faults generated before fault triggered. Trouble discovered faults.
